Church to acquire site of grocery store

A Fort Loudon church is acquiring the site of a grocery store that closed last week.

I live in Fort Loudon and the community could support the store just fine, but in the last 5-8 years the quality/cleanliness was severly lacking. No body wants to buy their groceries at a place that smells like a locker room and this was the case for the last few years. People go where a sense of hygeine is apparent. It sure was nice to have a store in town, its a shame that mismanagement has cost us that store.

I also live in Ft Loudon, right beside the store/bank and I totally agree. The quality of the deli items was rather shoddy also. Not to mention the price of everything. We are really sad to see the store go, because now we have to drive to get a loaf of bread or gallon of milk. If the price of the items was more reasonable, I guarantee people wouldn't drive to Chambersburg or even McConnellsburg, especially now with the price of gas! I think Don ought to check into selling milk and bread, he could make a killing....
