There is a possibility that our plant in Farmerville, LA will be bought by Foster Farms. I am curious to know what kind of company is Foster Farms in relationship to their employees. I know that every company is profit oriented. Is there a union? Are the benefits good. Is the pay equal to the area? Log in and let me know. Thanks

I work for Foster Farms and can say that I love it. There is a camaraderie among the employees that is great. Most people who work for Foster Farms are what I would call "Lifers." They join Foster's and they stay here till they retire. Both my mom and dad did that. Foster's takes care of their employees and knows that their people are valuable assets to the company. People respect that and they stay with the company. I feel like a part of the family and that I'm important to the whole organization. It's a pride you see throughout the organization from the bottom to the top. So like we like to say to those who join the company, "Welcome to the farm, Sierras_Ride!"

Hi Diana, thank you for the welcome. I felt the same way about PPride at first. Theres no doubt about the fellowship of the "partners". If there is a need we quickly take up a donation without hesitation. Because one day it may be us. I also felt that I could be here until retirement until lately. No matter how good any company is you're going to have buttheads somewhere. Since the fuel and feed crunch though I have felt that Pilgrim's feels about us the same way they feel about the birds on the Live Haul Trucks. EXPENDABLE. I am looking forward to the FFarms buyout. God knows the growers need it bad. Can you tell me Diana how FFarms handles the employee absentees? We are on the point system. 10 points and you are terminated. It takes 3 months straight working for 1 point to fall or drop, and 6 months or 180 days for them all to drop. We make after 2 years working $11.08 per hour(we are in a low cost of living area). We are a part of the United Food & Commercial Workers Union. The union has been
$ue$$ful in getting the high pay. We are one of the highest paid plants that Pilgrim's has. The union was established with ConAgra first. What about the production of ready to eat food. We have a side of our plant called "Prepared Foods". All you do is Microwave the items. I heard that all FFarms is interested in is the Raw side where birds are processed. Can you also tell me how I can aquire some Foster Farms apparel, primarily ball caps. Thanks for the holler, I will be looking for your reply. God Bless.

Foster Farms is Hell. Dont get stuck working there. They don't treat their employees good. They also hire non qualified supervisors. There is too much favoritism and lots of assholes! So if your planning to work for this company please go out and explore whats out there before you settle for foster farms!!
I worked for this company 3 years and from my experience I could honestly say this place doesnt treat their emloyees fairly!
I worked at the (Livingston, Ca Plant) NCDC2 Warehouse stackoff area! Was a stacker and we stacked the line for 2 hours straight then 15min break. Boxes came down the line weighing 99lbs max! Boxes averaged between 50lbs-80lbs. But they came down like if we were machine stackers or something!
HORRIBLE PLACE TO WORK!!!

Ya, Foster's treats employees like shit. Used to be a good company but has taken a dive in the last few years. Most non union employee workers get less than a 1% pay raise annually; new union employees get no contribution to their retirement; maintenance is expected to work 6 or more days a week, every week, year-round and is only paid half to two thirds of what people with comparable positions are paid in the same labor market; if a holiday falls on a weekday you WILL work that Saturday since they don't have to pay you overtime; if you have vacation the day before or the day after a holiday you don't get holiday pay for that holiday; you don't know if you are working on a Saturday until noon the day before so you can never put money down on weekend plans; senior management openly belittles, berates and insults employees in front of over employees and over the radio for everyone to hear; and the micro-management is taken to entirely new levels.

DANG PEOPLE, Foster Farms took over operations of Pilgrim's Pride about 3 years ago. They were a God send as far as hiring the workers back and utilizing most of the Growers. I know all they care about is the bottom line, but so did Pilgrim's. I tell people that we are just like the Chickens on the back of the truck, EXPENDABLE. Amen on the Supervisor's, Thanx for the git back.

Heard contract is up in June. Won't renew. Talk of Tyson moving in. Heard this on the floor bout 3 weeks ago. Tonight I found it's pretty common knowledge. However farmerville management is mum.

Thanks for the word Too Much Time. We the Pions are kept in the dark, but figured as much. It's pretty much impossible shipping nearly everything you produce on a 3 day trek, and then expect to compete with your competitors. Thanks again, please keep in touch.

As far as Tyson coming in, the word here is that Tyson can't own anything in Louisiana. They say it would create a monopoly.
