Anderson..."...championin g a liberal agenda..." says it all.

oh, and an attorney to boot.

Someday, when this state gets tired be being taxed but not getting results for anyone but welfare recipients, they will vote liberals like Ms. Anderson out and bring in REAL people that SERVE.

Fifth term, indeed. Just another career politician.

They should just place little windmills in front of all the legislators.
At least the capitol will be "off the grid" when they're in session.

I work, and pay taxes. The quality of life around these parts is pretty decent when you compare it to those parts of the country that are less "liberal" Small price to pay. What exactly do you anti tax people want?-Trailer parks and roads that you can only travel on by gas wasting pick-up trucks?

The way I see it the problem is not higher energy bills or high taxes. the issue that plagues me most is this idea that we can grow our way out of our problems. we should be concerned mostly with the ever growing human population. Why do we reward people on welfare when they make a baby? Why do catholics and other religious groups promote unhealthy large families .What is the point?

Why is it that Sen. Anderson can't see that all of the spending programs she promotes costs the taxpayers more and more money. When this happens, they cannot affort to keep up their properties. They fall into disrepair, get demolished and sent to a landfill. You think plastic bags are the problem? No, its your so called policies that "protect" the environment, but make St. Paul an environment impossible to afford to live within.

Please stop spending money where it is not needed. And will someone please tell these politicians to stop using Paul Wellstone as an excuse to expand every gov't program that exists.

You work hard Sen Anderson, I'll give you that, try working FOR the taxpayers instead.

Talking to Xcel Energy to get a company's point of view over alternative energy solutions? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHH AHAHHAHA!!!!! That's a good one Senator Anderson!!! Xcel has been gouging my electrical bills for years during the winter season in which it s draining my fragile budget. And you want me expected to believe that a greedy company should be the pioneer of environmental energy standards, even though the state attorney general had sued Xcel Energy recently for consumer fraud and price gouging practices.

Tell me Senator, how much is my tax money being wasted by your frivolous effort to get so-called clean energy policy? I wouldn't trust Xcel to conduct eco-friendly power windmills for state consumers as equating to Lindsay Lohan getting behind the will while drunk in Hollywood.

With the economy in the tank, the cost of shipping of products driving inflation through the roof, when is the government, both state and federal going to realize that Ethanol isn't the answer, it too is driving inflation up.
This being said, I think it is now time for your elected officials to stop bowing to the "Global Warming" crowd and start drilling in ANWR and in the Gulf. Build new refineries and nuclear power plants. The country has been controlled by feel good, special interests such as the Sierra Club long enough.

This is my state senator. She was on almanac a week ago. I was so embarassed I almost puked. She seem like a nice gal. She seems to mean well. The fact is, she is a total idiot and complete fool. How a woman this stupid could get elected beyond dog catcher is proof of why this state is in such a mess and why you taxes will only continue to grow at rates 5 times your wage growth.

As your taxes, food, fuel, utilities and other fixed cost grow at rates much higher the your bringing home, you get squeezed. You start to spend less, kicking off less tax revenue's, causing deficits like we are now experiencing, causing fools like this to raise taxes even more. Causing you to get squeezed more causing you to cut back, kicking out less tax rev's, causing fools like this to raise taxes again.

It's obvious what is happening here, unless, of course, your a complete idiot. She may be a nice person, she may mean well but that makes her no less dangerous all the same. She cares about one thing only and that is growing government and if it forces you on the dole all the better for her and her party.

Anderson, like all liberals, has an agenda OR hasn't a clue about the issue. There's enough geo-thermal energy available to meet a large percentage of the nations needs without making any other 'green' changes.'Hot-Spots' are all over and use steam turbines to generate the electricity. Add hydro-electric to geo-thermal and we would have more than adequate electricity available. Add nuclear and we can easily meet the needs of those areas that cannot easilt access the other two.

Anderson and friends are just meeting their obligations to the unions who own their souls. Anderson has to be better informed about 'better' alternatives to fossil fuels, but can't admit it or her benefactors will be upset and she'll lose her endorsements. It's a great con game if she can pull it off.

MY experience with Ellen Anderson flatly contradicts this article. In 2003, I waited for most of a day through tedious environmentalist hogwash. Then, when I got my turn to testify, Anderson's attitude was diffident at best. Then, seven minutes into my allotted fifteen, she cut me off. Dennis Lien's assertions notwithstanding, She clearly has no interest whatsoever in hearing views that do not resonate with her own.

As to the windmill mandates of the 2007 session, those mandates will TRIPLE your power bills. That's right. TRIPLE.

As to her pet project this year,'carbon cap and trade' was a rube goldberg invention of none other than Enron Corporation. The large energy companies are lining up to fleece the public.

Don't feel bad about your State Senator. Both our House and Senate reps, Julie Bunn and Kathy Saltzman, are so immune to the facts on issues and the economics involved that you cannot even have an intelligent conversation with them, I've tried. The facts don't count, but they cerrtainly don't have any problem voting for any legislation that supports their union friends, illegal immigrants and farm/industry subsidies . They ran on a platform of fiscal responsibility, family values, etc. and have gone 180 degrees the other direction. I wish this Legislative session was over as I can't afford the egregious tax increases and the only ones who can are paid by the government or union contractor with government contracts. I hate their 'death to the private sector middle class' mantra.

It is quite amazing that people don't seem to care about these mandates that will make energy more expensive. It also seems that the DFL/EnviroNutz want to go back to the "good ole" days when nobody had energy. What's next, covered wagons?

I am already tired of being taxed and not getting anything for it. Only the exceedingly wealthy, who pay almost no taxes get all the benefit. The only welfare recipients I see are large corporations. Way too many companies only exist to get the government welfare. Too many people are dramatically in need, but there is never any money left to help them. Pawlenty has given it all away to his comrades.

Restocking the bison herds is next on their agenda.
That way we will at least have dried buffalo dung to burn for heat.
