It was until it turned into a personal attack on the person. Every story they run there is always someone who makes it their business to personally attack the victim(s).

This whole incident really ended up with alot of name calling between family members.I am looking at some of the comments, and it breaks my heart to see this unjustice going on.I personly know this individual, and she is a very dedicated employee at her place of employment, she is well respected.I am praying this situation can be resolved. There are to many HATERS in this world.Everyone involved in this name calling will regret this someday.Trust me...........

People lash out their hatred on the computer because no one can see them behind the computer. They say things that they won't dare say to a person's face.

If Ms. Hoffman had her receipt, Salvation Army (assuming) would of given her a new mattress or store credit.

On another note, people are overreacting to these personal attacks on Ms. Hoffman. People also need to remember that it can go both ways. There's a few posts who said they knew Ms. Hoffman personally and that she's nice and caring. With no proof, why should I take their words over the personal attacks? They are as trustful as the personal attackers: none.

In the end, people need to remember that Ms. Hoffman put herself on television. Everyone on television, regardless of their action, will be personally attacked by someone.

I am no idiot, if scabies need a human host to live on then they would have died on the matress, and scabies can only be contracted through sexual intercourse, not through touching, or wearing someones coat or pants that have it.
OMG! Scabies, is not a sexual transmitted disease! Goof! It needs a host!
It is not sexual !!!!! Kids can get it! However, she looks ,totally like a crack head and she itches like one also! she can't even look at ya in the face!
she is all freaked out! she totally needs help!
Next!!!!!!! The scabies dont go in the tub!!!!!! there under your skin!you can only see them with a UV lite!!!!!! I don't think you get sores like that over nite! Wow, that is terrible, but preventable. A mattress should NEVER be purchased second hand. Don't blame the SA for this. I smell lawsuit, which would be too bad for the SA. If it cannot be disinfected or washed in HOT water, you shouldn't buy it second hand. I didn't think they sold bedding. I tried to donate a bed that was three months old many years ago and they said they didn't take mattresses. Times have changed I guess.
This is someone whose only option is to buy the mattress from Salvation Army. It's not like they've never sold mattresses before. The Salvation Army should know what is required before selling a donated mattress.

Fox 6 apparently did not do their research on scabies before publicizing this crackheads complaint.

1. Scabies symptoms do not appear until 1-2 months after a person has been infected, unless they've had them before.

2. If she had them before, she should know the symptoms and how to get rid of them.

3. You cannot see scabies - they are microscopic. Whatever she saw crawling on her floor and in her bathtub are probably bugs from her filthy house.

4. Scabies can be spread by sharing/using same bed, bedsheets, towels, clothing as an infected individual. She is probably a loose woman and got bugs from sleeping around.

5. You do not have to call an exterminator or tear out your carpeting if there are scabies in your home. Vacuuming works as well as washing all clothes, bedding, towels, etc in hot water and drying on high heat.

Katrina Cravy should have done a little more research before wasting time on reporting this BS story.

I have to agree with DOYOURRESEARCH, and with the majority of the posts about this woman being drug user/abuser. If you look her up on CCAP she has been arrested for drugs, which Katrina should have did her research first before doing this story and giving the lady her 3 minutes of fame/shame.
As for the affected family members, your family member created this mess, and now she has to pay the consequences. I believe she was looking to sue someone, probably to support the habit.
As for IKNOWWHATSUP, you need to do your research before making statements that you really don't know anything about. Also if this Lady is sucking your Dad dry, why didn't she use his money to buy a "NEW" bed, instead of a bed from the Salvation Army?
As for the kids of this lady, you deserve much much better than someone like this, I hope you don't learn from example. God Bless

It is ILLEGAL to sell used mattresses in all 50 states. That is the only furniture item that cannot be resold. Not really enforced it looks like, but the salvation army is breaking the law in continuing to do so.
It certainly IS NOT illegal to sell used beds in all states!! It goes state by state...each has its own laws handling the issue.

Blanket statements like that from idiots who think that good intentions are good enough, are what cause even bigger problems than the one they falsly address.

Each mattress - after ten years use will contain roughly 175lbs of skin flakes, dried bodily fluid sediments, and insect carcasses.

I have a question for anybody that has an issue with a used mattress. My first one is have you ever been on a vacation...yes okay. Next question did you sleep in the hotel/motel/resort bed.....yes again great. Last question how did you sleep .....great. i have asked these three questions thousands of times and we sell thousands of used mattresses 20,000 plus in 2013 alone in our stores in 8 different states. Now i do have the proper permits in the states that require them. Also for everyone that is so shocked that someone would by a used mattress. You yourselves have spent hundreds / thousands of dollars rent those mattresses every time you vacation. And another note tban lady bought a mattress that only one or two other people have slept on while youve paid money to sleep on mattresses tgat thousands have slept on and we all know what happens on vacation right!
