I am looking for the Robert and Irene Olkwitz family members. Also, I would like to read the news regarding the slaying of 19 year ol Diane Olkwitz in Nov. of 1967 or so. I grew up with this family until I was about 10. My parents and Diane's parents kept in contact, I can not find anything about Diane, even her burial spot which I would like to visit this summer. I lived at 304 E. Main Street, across and down from the Lutheran church on the corner. We, as kids, played by the Menomonee Falls river, and on some Indian (big) kilns in that area. Any help would be appreciated

Patricia, I'm not sure if you received my other response or not so will post it again. I too knew Diane Olkwitz and kept in touch with her until her death. I would like to know if you had any luck in finding out any information on her death, or where she is buried, for I have been wanting to know this for years. I would appreciate hearing from you. My email is joodila68@yahoo.com. Thank you Judith Huebl Miller

My aunt Diane is buried at the St. Mary's cemetary across from Ernie's on Main Street. The last I heard there are no headstones for any of my family members. So sadly I don't even know exactly where they are buried. I emailed Judy.

As for her death... we have all wanted to know a lot of things for years. There are only three siblings of hers left and it still haunts our entire family.

I see I'm not the only person wondering If this case was ever solved. I knew two of her brothers. Not real well just in being in the same group a few times. I also worked at Duchland Dairy just before Diane did. I used to see her parents in one of the local bars and saw two people who look like lost souls. I'll never forget them. I also have been haunted by the way she was killed. So many times when I went to Menomonee Falls I thought about stopping at the local Police station and ask if it was ever solved. I thought maybe they would look at me funny or something. I can't find the old Menomonee Falls News anywhere on line. I typed in her name so many times and never found anything until today. I also could not remember the date. I knew it was 1966 or 1967. I now have three daughters and can't even think of what this family went through. I wish them all peace.

FOR MANY YEARS I USED TO QUESTION THE MENO FALLS POLICE DEPT AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE REAL KILLER Was PUT AWAY IN ILLINOIS ON A DIFFERENT CHRIME ,THERE WERE ALSO SEVERAL MURDERS IN THE MILWAUKEE ARE WITH IN THOSE TWO YEARS, GIRLS FUEL LINES WERE CUT, INCLUDING MY OWN, AND THEN CHASED UNTILL THE CAR WOULDN'T RUN, I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO RUN OUT OF GAS IN A NEIGHBORHOOD WERE I KNEW SOMEONE= WHY HAS THERE BEEN NO ONE HELD RESPONSILE FOR THIS HORRENDOUS CRIME. I REMEMBER DIANE, I RREFUSE TO BELEIVE THAT NO ONE IS HELD RESPONSIBLE FORN THIS INJUSTICE

I had a comment that I wrote on October 12th and
I'm not from Elmhurst,IL. Don't know where that came from. I see this interest is growing. It's growing small but maybe if people knew about it we would be surprised at the people that would remember Diane. I know alot of people my age would not forget it. Maybe if any thing it will keep her memory alive and haunt the person that did this horrible thing to her.

I am the youngest sister of Diane. Thank you for your interest in my sister's case. It is still an unsolved mystery always hanging over those of us that loved her so much. She is buried in Menomonee Falls, St Mary's Cemetery. There is a gravestone with her name on it as well as my parents. (May they Rest in Peace). Diane was a beautiful and loving sister and died a senseless brutal death. I pray every single day that the murderer would come forward and we could have some closer.

I am Diane's younger sister. Debi and I are the only girls left. Most of our family has passed away and we all have had to live with this unsolved mystery, for all of these years. We do believe that someone out there still knows something about this and needs to come forward.
With alot of prayer and support of anyone and everyone, maybe someday we will be able to put this to rest. I believe her spirit is with us on a daily basis and we need to keep her memory alive til this crime is solved. If anyone would like to speak to either Debi or I, regarding anything that would help us in any way, to find out who took this beautiful sister of ours away from us and caused such termoil in our lives, please leave your e-mail address and we will get back to you.
Please help us pray for this to be solved, so we can all rest.. Thank you all so much for caring and God be with you. We would like to hear from the person who worked at Dutchland Dairy. I believe it was Diane Greene.. if you would be willing to speak with us, this would be greatly
appreciated.. May God Bless You All....

This is to Patty And Debra. I'm sorry for not responding sooner. With the holidays no time for my computer. First I want to say that when I said I worked at Dutchland Dairy It was for a very short time and I'm guessing about a year before your sister did. I don't even remember who worked there at the time. I did not last to long. I'm guessing about a week. I did not know your sister. I just remember your brothers Dennis and Eddie. Like I said they were older and just knew them from friends. Sorry to see Dennis Passed away. I really wish for your family thats left to find who did this to your sister. Yes you can email me at greens@nconnect.net. Sorry I do wish I could have been a help to you. Diane Greene

Some how tonight I thought about Diane and how Menomonee Falls lost its "little town" feel that fall. I hung out with Patti 63 - 64. I also see another class mate of mine is also still concerned. I am sorry to hear there has not been a resolution to this.

I have written other posts concerning Diane's murder but for some reason they don't seem to be posting. I just wanted to let her sisters know that I was a close friend of Diane's in the 60's. To make a long story short(because this probably won't post anyhow) I have lots of letters she wrote to me. Lots of names mentioned etc. Just curious if you would like them. Hopefully to narrow the search of who did this to her.

Hi Patti: I stumbled upon this website by accident this morning looking what the schedule was for Ashes today. Much to my amazement, the Olkwitz Family was staring me in the face. Years of emotion came over me. I was just 7 years old when this heriffic event took place. You see, my sister was the one that found your sister. I believe you know who my sister is. Her name is also Diane. You see, Diane O. and my sister Diane M. were best buds. Diane O. was always over to the house. I recieved the best hugs from her every time she walked into our home. See, in June of 1967 Diane O. was my sister's Maid of Honor and then this terrible thing happened to her in November. Our entire family was affected. Both Dianes worked together at Dutchland Dairy and then carpooled to work once they had office jobs. I am sure my sister must have mentioned at your brother Dennis's funeral - or I am sure for that matter your brother mentioned to you that they know who killed Diane O. I have been waiting to see something in the Falls News about this, but nothing ever appears. Dennis O. found out shortly before his death. Please e-mail me at rosannev@csepromo.com for a more extensive conversation. Both our sisters had so much in common, they were like glue. Looking forward to your e-mail. Rosanne

Garie, Thank you so much for thinking of Diane. There were some murders commited by Michael Harrington around that time. Diane's case still remains open and we still have hope that this case can be solved. Please leave your e-mail address so I can contact you further.
