They ran "the checks in the mail" scam a couple of times with us. When we won't take them off credit hold they sent use an email threatening to disqualify us if we didn't ship. Classy organization. They want to dis-quality us because they can't pay their bills.

I get it - your not getting paid. It's not a picnic for the employees either. We have employees that have been here for 20, 30, 40 years. They helped make this company successful. It was something to be proud of.
Now they are wondering if C&D is going to be around when they retire. They see years of work being wasted.

Management has spent far too much time basking in the dull glow of their laptop screens. Corporate assets travel to the plants only to sit in the offices fussing over spreadsheets.

I know this is disturbing thought, but value added is created on the floor. They might consider spending less time eliminating people and more time giving workers the tools and information they need to be more productive.

There was a post on C&D in Glassdoor, on September 27, 2013. It indicated that Reynosa was facing a multi-million dollar judgement for labor violations.

The violations resulted from racial slurs made by management.

This is about the weirdest place I have ever worked. It's like a haunted factory. I swear there are the ghosts of mangers past wandering the 4th floor.

Broken windows, pipes leaking, the smell of rotting carpet. In the middle of it is a pristine conference room for visiting executives.

On the factory floor we can't keep the toilets working.

Yes, it's true, but involves refusal to pay severance in accordance with the Mexican Federal Laws.
A local newspaper El Manana carried the story. According to the article , C&D thumbed their nose at the Mexican law and was trying to get help from Tamaulipas officials to circumvent the law so they would not have to pay. There are some reports of falsifying doctor's notes to avoid court dates, and changing property status to avoid a judgement, as well as contact with federal magistrates person to receive judgement in their favor.

Sounds like another failed company just scamming to prevent the inevitable. Chapter 7 and employees get squat from Chapter 7 along with creditors.

Jasmine, yes, it looks that way. The labor suit in Mexico has been an embarassment to the Mexican authorities and the Mcallen agency that interacts with the maquilas in Reynosa. The labor rights that C & D has been ignoring are actually embodied in the Mexican Constitution and the other foreign employers have no problem complying with them, only C & D. Word is that even the Mexican lawyers defending C & D are not being paid and are speaking badly of the company. For non-compliance Mexican can shut down operations, pull their import/ export license and subject them to liens and fines. Also, if there are any indications of trying to influence the case by payments through a contact to the magistrates, that would be of interest to Federal authorities, north of the border.
