What an awkward location, they won't get the same level of business by putting their stores in hard to reach spots.

I'm thrilled to hear that Woodman's might build in that location. I used to live by their store in Janesville and still miss it 3 years later. I have never found better deals on food anywhere.

Does anyone know if Woodman's still plans to open a store in Menomonee Falls? I sure hope so because we need one closer than Oak Creek. Menomonee Falls would be a great location.

Excellent - it's about time to have alternative the area monopoly of Pick and Safe. As former residents of Madison - we miss Woodmans! Great selection and prices!

The Menomonee Falls Plan Commission last week reviewed requests for a conditional-use permit and rezoning that would allow a 238,000-square-foot supermarket and gas station with a car wash on 33.4 acres at the northwest corner of 124th Street and Leon Road.

Some commissioners said the proposed Woodman's Food Market could have a better impact locally if it were to locate in a more retail-oriented part of the village.

The goal is for the store to open in fall 2010.

The Plan Commission is expected to review the plan again after a traffic study has been conducted. A public hearing is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, at Village Hall, N8480 Pilgrim Road.

I really don't care about the other grocers. I used to love Sentry, but they have the worst produce and don't stock the latest in products. They could have remodeled and made it more modern like the other newer Sentry's. Burlington has the best Sentry anywhere. Pick and Save, I like the one on Q and would still shop there, but the one on Appleton Avenue in that little strip mall across from the high school is the worst Pick and Save I have ever gone to. Their checkers and customer service are all younger and have no idea how to act while checking out. I am the last one they will talk to, because they are too busy talking over me to other checkers and the bag boys.

Thank you Bill!! I drive past there quite often and was very pleased when I finally saw the sign. I can't wait until I no longer have to pay the high price of Pick N Save. Wal-Mart in Germantown isn't much cheaper than Pick anymore.

I'm excited for the new woodmans to open. Mainly because I will be working there. I'm transferring from the Kenosha store to the falls store. I'm hoping we do well business wise. I'm sure we will. Tell everyone to come shop at our store. You will quickly fall in love with our selection and prices.

I love it. Great pay, great insurance. If you don't mind starting at the bottom and working up. They are strict on being on time for work though and appearance, but I love working for woodmans.

I am really hoping that Woodman's has a good selection and good prices. As Barb wrote I too am sick of Pick n' Save and their high prices. Every since they "took over" southeastern Wisconsin's grocery market they have been raising their prices to the point they are now the "High Price Leader". I find 99% of what I buy cheaper at Target and Sentry. Hopefully Woodman's will be a part of that mix.

Chuck we have a huge selection of items. I really don't mean to sound like a car salesman or anything, but just look up reviews on woodmans grocery stores. You will be pleasantly surprised.

I have been a faithful Woodman's shopper since I went to college in Madison. When I moved back to Milwaukee I was SHOCKED to see how much groceries were at Pick n' Save. I was overjoyed when the Oak Creek location opened and can't wait for another location. Awesome prices, amazing selection!! Now, if only one could open near, say... Miller Park Way?=)
