I was wondering how long Harley could pay someone $26.00 an hour to put a screw in a bike.Harley's are nice bikes but vastly overpriced, and always have been.

HD stands for hundred of dollars, for all this crap made in china. Harley hasn't been American made in years, it has on been assembled here. Boycott the 110th, this company is out of touch with consumers and it's own customers (remember Elton John). this company needs to be bought out by it's employees and returned to it roots post AMF years. Harley it greedy, with all the crap it sells, that is marked up to unbelivable standards, and ripping off its customers. If you want a Harley, you can buy used or repo'ed models for far cheaper and still send a message to this company that it needs to get back to appealing to everyday riders and not just celebs and rich people. Until, that happens things will not improve. Willie G......are you a figure head, or do you have enough say to retake control of your family namesake, and get rid of a nonrider as CEO. Harley, if you need help, and I'll be far cheaper to pay, and still right this company. Let me know.

Joe Milwaukee, your out of touch. Harley's have been a reliable bike since they were taken over from AMF in 1983, in 84 and 85 with the introduction of the evolution motor. Harley's have surpassed most Japanese bikes for quality. Get your facts straight or shut up!

we just need to get rid of as many jobs as we can before we shut down all the plants. that makes paying severences cheaper so we can sell the company to china. after all they make everything fo us already. I might start making golf carts again.

wow.....any of you posters make over $8 an hour?...i'm guessing no..the employees are paid well to build a motorcycle that sells for a high price.....if they take major concessions do you think the price of bikes will come down?....uh,no...more profit for the company...there are few well paying jobs like this left so before you get on your soapbox about people turning screws maybe you should concentrate on cooking the fries and saying "can I take your order?"

Get rid of greedy jews running the place (Wandell) who take home a $6 million BONUS. That's his BONUS. Not his salary. There, I just saved them $6 million. You can add Klein to that sheet-can list as well. Hey Willie, do you have any balls left? Can you fix this, or are you way to rich now?

Where do I begin? First of all, as a current employee, I can tell you that we do more than just turn screws. Do we make good money? Absolutely. Are Harleys overpriced? Yep. Would a wage cut make them cheaper? Nope. I find it interesting that the main argument for executive pay is that in present day America, you won't get the talent you need unless you keep up executive pay. Apparently that argument doesn't cover the rank and file. Harley has always considered itself a world class company with world class employees. Unfortunately, it has become a crime to be a blue collar union worker and member of the middle class in America. So much for the American dream. Obviously the country is hurting right now, heck, I sure wouldn't buy a motorcycle now. Yes, something has to happen. I can't speak for my coworkers, but if I have to take a pay and benefits cut, then so be it. However, I think the cuts should be across the board. Everyone should take one for the team. And we know that's not going to happen.

What a joke that was hey? I mean really? HD is so obsessed with diversity that they tried to hire someone they felt everyone would like. No wonder they had to keep it a secret at the time...

Harley Davidson needs to put that V-rod engine on a bagger bike. This over due. Sure sell those old bikes but sell one that have horse power. Water cooled is the future hands down.

It isn't just Harley, but alot of companies are like that. They want top profits for the top executives, but want to pay as little as possible to get it. If companies can get away with slashing wages for their employees, they would. They don't care about the little guy, just themselves. My company is downsizing for the sake of saving money, but they used the excuse that I supposedly had quality issues. No one is perfect there by no means, but I had the most seniority and higher pay bracket. Why keep me when they could when they hire another peon for less pay.

Another example of corporate greed.Again the workers take it in the a**.Since when is it a crime to try and earn a decent wage to pursue the "American Dream".As stated in other comments, the workers could give up $10 an hour and 2 things will not happen,(a)the cost of all their motorcycles will not drop,(b)the salaries and bonuses of the corporate fatcats will not drop.I worked over 30 years for a large manufacturing plant in Milwaukee (AO SMith/Tower Automotive). When Tower came to the union with their song and dance about at least 10 more years of work in exchange for elimination of cost of living raises and performance bonuses, and lets not forget job combinations and eliminations,we thought, what a deal.About 3 years into a 6 year contract were on the street and the jobs are in Mexico. All we did was subsidize their move. And look at Mercury Marine in Fond du lac.Its all the same. How can you negotiate in good faith when the company is holding a gun to your head with a take it or leave it attitude. The stragety is perfect. The compny wants to expand, but they don't want to pay for it.So threaten to move the jobs and the local and state government will do all they can with incentives to keep you there. In Fond du lac, their sales tax went up to subsidize Mercury Marine. And while all this is going on the american worker is working more hours annually and their wages are going backward, when compared to the cost of living, fuel prices, health insurance, food costs...need I go on!I feel under Yobama this country is beginning to get closer to the type of socialist country he feels it should be,what with medical care for everyone.Ya know, under this plan everyone will be required to have health insurance, or what, be fined?Whats the difference,if you can"t afford it in the first place,do you think I'm gonna worry about a fine or a penalty! And what people seem to forget is,this country was instrumental in the eventual victory in World War II.Why, we were the manufacturing giant of the world. We supplied all of our allies, and probably saved the world from tyranny. Now what are we,a weak 2nd rate service oriented country. As some one so astutley said in one of the other comments "YOUR ORDER PLEASE".

I spent almost 17 years with my company and I got a kick in the teeth. Last year, they took away our raises and our bonuses. Now they are taking away our jobs. Multi Color Corp is the name of the company. I thinking of hiring a lawyer and sue wrongful termination.
