I had heard so much about this man, for me myself I think that Gerald Hawkins done the right thing with is was aa family member
or not, I just hope that all of the threats agains him would come
to an end, I wounder would have happen if some one other than Mr.
Hawkins had tiped off the Milwaukee Police, would the Jackson
family throw threats at that person.

I do think that Gerald sholud have some kind of protection from the Milwaukee Police if needed.

The family did put up a $6,000 reward for information leading to an arrest or conviction. We are unsure if Mr. Hawkins received any of the reward money.

Good for Mr. Hawkins. It took courage to step up and do what needed to be done. That society has got to the point where we would consider his actions anything but proper is a sad comment on what we consider acceptable behavior today.
We have to do more to get these guns off the street. It's just too easy for these young thugs to pull the trigger for a few dollars that not going to last them that long.

Gerald Hawkins absolutely did the right thing. He has a conscience unlike his other family members. Its to bad that people have to act like that, especially in a situation like that. They, the family that acted up in court, should get some kind of punishment for acting like that. That is ridiculous.

We need more people like you Mr. Hawkins! Thank you for doing the right thing. And although probably out of anger, the Jackson family's words to the Potters was dispicable and disgusting..way to be examples.

This man is a true hero. Others should do the same instead of blaming the victim.

Great job Mr. Hawkins. I hope others take note of this and start turning these hoodlums in. the violence wont end if people leave them on the streets..Take a stand once and for all.

I know it was hard and still is hard now for Mr. Hawkins...but he did the right hting! He should be commended. Hopefully he will be an example for others..... Too many crimes go unsolved because of ignorance......the no snitch rule! That is plain stupid! What about the decency rule!

Mr Hawkins did the right thing, God bless you. It's a shame that people feel they have a right kill someone for their belongings and to do harm to others. To take something they didn't work for. Apparently too many don't know right from wrong. To protect someone who has done this is just as bad pulling the trigger themselves, that means they agree with what he did. May God protect you Mr. Hawkins from the evil that lurks in your family.

It's about time that color is not an issue! Then again it was a black man who killed a white man. I fear the tabloids if it were the other way around! It is also about time, that justice is served! Wrong is wrong! And for a family to stick up for another family member, who took another innocent man's life!!!!!!! This is why we have these mean, cruel, people in the world! They are never taught right from worng and they are obviously never taught that there are consequences for our actions! It just proves that the gun or knife he was packing is not as powerful as justice!

I agree with the life-sendence. But one thing that I found interesting is that the lady cop seem to be a bit too rough on him. Did anyone else notice that?

He did the right thing by turning in his nephew unlike the other idiots in the family who were so disrespectful on Friday to the victim's family.

HONEY, u are worried about the wrong thing...so what if they grabbed him roughly...he's still alive!!...he deserve more than a shove...more like the electric chair..(i'll vote)...no excuse he didnt have no one to teach him... he is old enough to know right from wrong...would he walk in the middle of traffic in the middle of rush hour??..NO..because he knows that would be wrong...no excuses for him or his behavior and to make everything even more complicated...he has no remorse!!!..
