Love Sun City Gardens

Sun City, CA

Why is this even being discussed? My mother lives there and says it is the best thing I have ever done for her. I go there to see her at least 4 times a week and often she is too busy for me because she's playing Bingo or Blinko or exercising or playing chair volleyball. The staff calls her by name and if they haven't seen her that day they ask me about her. The grounds are gorgeous and VERY well kept. The place is clean as a whistle. No one has ever been less than polite or kind to me or my mother. I love the staff, I love the food, I love the whole place and so does my mom.

I worked there for 8 years and the residents had it great it is a beautiful place to live and good food, and a good maintence crew that would be there if any happened and they had housekeeping at there fingertips and the one thing I noticed no jewelry was stolen the resident had misplaced it and was found I cared for all the residents I came in contact with and treated them like family along with everybody else that worked there. A lot of the residents would say their family dumped them off there and dont visit and it is true. So I dont think the gardens is a bad place to live.
Thank you for your care and service. I have a relative there and she is very comfortable.

No care giving facility treats the elderly with any respect, or compassion..just another money pit. dont dare put your family in one of these facilities, they will have there jewelry stolen, be sexualy abused, and treated like a animal, sun city gardens in to exception..burn it down.....
I've worked for sun city gardens for about 4 years now, and to hear such blasphemy is disgusting. The residents we get in independent living are definitely meant to be in memory care, or even something more....so that's not right. And the residents we get in a.l. and memory care should probably be in a more care type housing. But IN NO MEANS do we abuse, steal, or treat our residents like animals. For how needy each and every resident acts, we all do a damn good job tending to their needs. There isn't one day I wouldn't bend my back for those residents. Staff wise, sun city gardens is the best in the area. Good luck finding something better!:)

It is not the residents that need help there its the empolyees.. They are understaffed, underpaid & overworked. The "higher ups" as I will refer 2 them are rude, uncaring & scandalous. They should pay their caregivers a fair wage for the job they do its a hard and thankless job their only true reward is from the patients and a few family members who appreciate what they do for them.
The higher ups are wonderful people, they are always trying to help staff but its unfortunate that the staff there, is only there for pay, they do not care for the seniors. you all should go somewhere else. If you have no patients for the senior then move on.

You are not a doctor to decide which residents belong where, are you? If the residents are there then, that's where they belong. but you are correct on one thing WE DO NOT ABUSE OUR RESIDENTS OR STAFF. It is a very homelike place to live and work.

I started working there 4/22/16 loved my job absolutely loved and cared about my residents .On 03/10/2016 I was helping my resident to her chair( meaning she was walking and I was next to her to assist if needed
She loss her balance we fell backwards, I hit my head, neck and face on her nite stand plus she ended up falling on top of me hurting my left hip and leg. Long story short. I drove myself to urgent care.[ You would think they would have drove me since I injured my head and neck.] anyways doctor gave me 2 days off
Long behold I get a phone call from my boss stating" I'm not suppose to be taking time off. I went back to work after doc released me. He put me on modified duties No patient care, and 10min break every hour. My boss put me to be trained as a receptionist. Not going to lie. I never did that type of work before
So I didn't do as well as I would have liked to. Then they put me in Activities. I loved it! Loved helping the residents, just over all being there and helping my residents made me feel good. Seeing their faces laughing. After being in activities for a month. I really thought
I was doing great. Activties director said "I was wonderful with the residents and as a person. Even a higher up person said same thing
Director of Activties said. I thought I was doing good. Until the administrator called me in and made some Horrible accusations. They suspended me until investigation was done. May 4th got a phone call stating they felt I wasn't a fit for there company. They pretty much chalked it up to saying " unprofessional conduct ".
So now I can't collect any type of money from workman's comp
Because I was let go with "cause" . All of the "higher ups " are rude
And lie to save their butts. I'm out of a job and I have five kids to care for 😞

No, I don't think Sun City Gardens should be closed. Residents and their families are great some of the staff are wonderful.
However I do think they need to do something about Management they treat people with disrespect. They sit in their office , break room and gossip about residents. They are loud. I was on the phone on my break in the break room and he could clearly hear staff talking bad about a resident. It was sad to hear management talk bad about residents
They are going to be redoing the garden
That's fine but what about the residents rooms that have poop on the carpet and cockroaches in their rooms or the unorganized closest that should be clean liens and it has other crap in there.

I was reading these posts and I see that people are ingnorant to what actually goes on in an assisted living facility/Dementia Care. The residents are treated with respect with the best 24 hour staff there is, which is not easy by any means (why don't you put your fry basket down and fill out an app?) As far sexually abused? You have a sick mind, maybe lived in the wrong park. Next one treated like an animal, I don't see how that's possible considering the caregivers dress, feed, shower, escort to meals, HOSPICE CARE-(that alone is enough) Who sits with the residents when their selfish, not give a shit family never comes for holidays, birthdays, to maybe show off a new grandbaby, even a simple meal once every 5 years, we talk to them, visit, and not because we are getting paid because we love and care about our residents in or out of work. One last thing, who do you think is with them when they pass?
Hi Jesse I apply in suncity garden recently I sign the pre employment paperwork and did my medical.my question is how long they going to call me for orientation.thanks
