I have not heard a single argument that was anything more than laughing stock.
Yeah, there just isn't a rational argument against gay marriage.

In very plain words, you ignore all the rational arguments that have been delivered. Then you act as if you haven't heard any...
And the rational argument is?
Yeah, looks like you don't have one.

Are you purporting that there IS a purpose for homosexuality? And, we all know that no society has ever smiled upon homosexuality, except for the ancient Greeks, who no longer exist, and the oh, so decadent Romans, also gone for walkies down the ol' Extinction Trail... It would seem that any of the ancient civilizations that may have engaged in such behavior have fallen, by the wayside. Detrititus on the road...
ALL past cultures no longer exist, dummy.

IOW, you cannot provide any compelling reason to legalize SSM. Thank you for your admission of failing to be up to the task. Accepted.
Equal rights.

You homophobes can't have it both ways.
Straight people would also be able to marry someone of the same sex, so it would not be a special right.

I am not a homophobe. And I support SSM.

Your ridiculous belief that polygamy is not an equal rights issue makes you a bigot and a hypocrite. Not to mention stupid and arrogant. But that's not news.

Of course you're too stupid to realize that straight people would no more want to marry someone of the same sex than homosexuals would want to marry someone of the opposite sex.

So your argument is just as dumb and biased as theirs. Congratulations.

Polygamy isn't an equal rights issue.
Nobody has the right to marry more than on person.
Should they be able to?
Well, that's a topic for another forum

The legalization of pot isn't an equal rights issue, either.
Am I a bigot for saying that?

You homophobes always say gay people have equal rights because they can marry someone of the opposite sex.
Can't have it both ways!

I am not a homophobe. You are more a homophobe than I.

I can see no compelling reasons not to allow SSM. Heterosexuals are not interested in a same sex marriage just as homosexuals are not interested in an opposite sex marriage. So it IS a special right. Just as opposite sex marriage is now.

I support SSM but there are legitimate arguments against it and to marginalize and disrespect fellow Americans like you do over their wariness of this huge social change is despicable. And to simply dismiss legitimate (although not compelling) arguments by claiming you haven't heard them is arrogant, dishonest and stupid.

You want this radical social change, the burden is on you, not us. We're fine as it is. Tell us why SSM should be allowed, don't insist we tell you why it shouldn't be allowed.

I doubt you understand all this being you are very angry and stupid. But others will.

If that were true same sex marriage is not an equal rights issue either. In most states nobody has the right to marry someone of the same sex.

But, these are examples of things that might be feared, not a definition of "fear". I didn't ask for examples of things to be feared, I asked what you defined fear as.
But
1) I have no fear of that, either
2) I believe that teaching kids about sexual orientation in elementary school is dead wrong.
3) Routines suck, at least to me.
4) I do believe that the traditional definition of marriage should be preserved, call me a traditionalist.
5) I've had more than a couple of friends with AIDS, and pitied every one of them, no matter how they caught it, but never shunned any of them.
6) They are living in denial. True hell there.
7) I've been hit on by a few gays, myself, as I am modestly aware of my attractiveness, and have (almost always) found it amusing to have "across the board appeal" as I call it.:D As per the unattractive ones, go figure, maybe they are living in hope?:)
Just off the top of my head I'd say that fear is an uncomfortable reaction to a person, place, thing, idea, or action. The level of discomfort may vary depending on a person's own belief system or life experiences. A person's fear can be rated as anything between slightly anxious to immobilized by terror.

When I spoke of fear in the post you referenced I was talking about fear of gays and same-sex marriage.

You clearly are uncomfortable with opening up the definition of marriage to include same-sex couples. And I would label that discomfort that you feel as "fear".

You, being a "traditionalist", fear change.
