I hate it when Joe does his laundry and leaves the house. Stay home and finish or don't do any at all. It's not fair to me

Though I might agree with all that was posted in this blog and feel it was perfectly directed, I feel it is important that people remember why we try to create these leagues. Have we all forgotten the children that have fallen victim, to the outrages of all the adults we expect the children to look up to? I am appauled by the things in which I have read today. Due to disagreement's between adults is the reason for the split leagues. Instead of everyone trying to say screw this league, screw that one, I say more power to each of you and good luck, as long as your interest is for the children. At times in my 5 years with MPW you all were once friends. To the parents and what you choose to do, Each league trully feels they made the right decission, my heart goes out to you all for the rediculous behavior that you have witness from all sides. I hope for a great year this season, and feel it is not important for me to say which side of this crap I'm on but for the kids sake, they will all enjoy what youth football should be about... FUN!

All of you are annoying the shit out of me. This blog started out as a legitimate thread where a concerned parent was voicing his opinion. Now look at you guys. Making personal jabs and acting like little kids. The local gossipers. I don't even have kids but just reading this crap makes me want to vomit. You guys are the local youth leaders? What a laugh! Here you all are, each one of you trying to outwit the last nimrod with more moronic rhetoric... Losers... You're kids are going to grow up and whine about stupid crap just like you guys.

It's No better in the North East.I am a single Mom and wanted expose my son to mainly things, like football. My son played for the Lenape Valley Pop Warner Indians. The Head Coach was a dud never even played the game I think. The head coach only was worried about winning and it was suppose to be non-competitive. My son now will not even watch football now on TV he had such a bad experience..... Shame on You LV...
Shame on You.... John Devlin

Well, just to update those who might care. Last year my son played All American. HUGE difference. He was flag and they didn't have other teams in the league to play, but that was OK. They played a scrimmage EVERY week. The boys actually learned positions and the "favorites" didn't dominate the game. Everyone got a chance. Everyone got to handle the ball. Everyone learned some of the dynamics of the sport. I can't say so much for Pop Warner.

There were comments in 2009 and 2010 about volunteering before you complain. When I was with MPW I did volunteer. The board and volunteers are much like a high school clique. I'm much too old to be bothered with that silliness. As adults we "should" be able to communicate and work together without demeaning one another. Volunteers should be mindful of all the members of their team and not show favoritism toward their own kids or the best players. The whole is supposed to be a fun, learning experience for the kids.

BTW...basketball is looking mighty fine for 2011-12 :)

In regards to what was said here, just about hit the nail on the head...I have been involved with JAAF for many years, and if you think that it is any different here than "Pop-Warner," I can assure you that you're dead wrong!! All the points that were brought up regarding the "side line coaching (parents)" or "the coaching from the stands" seem to follow suit everywhere and usually from the people who do not volunteer their own time! And, it is true that football is not for every child, and sometimes they really do not like the 'contact' that is involved, or conditioning. I think every parent needs to try coaching a team and see what it is like out there...it's not a walk in the park, that's for sure!! It is A LOT of time, dedication, & personal sacrifice to run a team, be a team mom, AD, etc...
Lastly, do not kid yourself and think that the grass is any greener on the other side of the ball(JAAF)because I can assure you that it is not!!

Its so funny to sit back and watch you all complain. I hear it day in and day out on the sidelines while at practice. Guess what its not the coaches fault your child has no desire to actually play football. There are kids that are on the field but they still don't know what they are doing there. And of course thats the coaches fault right. No matter how hard you try to coach a kid, that can not walk and chew gum at the same time, they just don't get it. Maybe your kid should join something like the Science club, or table tennis. Maybe a full contact sport is not little Johnny's interest. How about you ask them if they want to play and how about you as a parent take a little time to explain to them that it is not as easy as professional players make it look. How about you take your kid to the park and play a little football with them.
Oh yeah and to those of you that think your kid is the best on the team no matter how bad they really are. This Pop Warner stuff is for your child to learn the sport, this is not going to hold them back from going to UCLA when they turn 19.
The resolution is not to just run from the league, it is to step up bring your ideas and sign up to volunteer. I did and now I have a totally different outlook. Plus Junior All American is not all that its cracked up to be. They have the same issues as Pop Warner.

I do not know what can be done except try and get rid of pop warner in your community. AYF/AYC has now surpassed Pop Warner for a reason. My son played for 4 years and every year it was drama with the board. The Region has had the same President forever and the new VP is that because her mother was once the President. In our area the VP of the Region is also President of an association and her boyfriend is the President of the league that over seas the associations. It is crooked as hell. They have people that were removed for having convicted felons coach as well as a treasurer who stole thousands of dollars back serving for the VP of the region. Pop Warner needs to be exposed to the media so parents can be warned and know what they are getting into.

Did anyone ever stop and think what is the REAL reason people volunteer and devote their time to football leagues in general? Instead of talking about how people aren't qualified to run a league, maybe YOU should volunteer. You say you know first hand that the president is not capable, did you ever volunteer for any position? If you did volunteer, did you finish the season?? It's supposed to be about the youth of our community, teaching team spirit, and keeping children active, off the streets, and out of trouble. You seem to know so much about MPW and AYF in Menifee, are you involved with any of them? Or is this knowledge second hand from gossip created by people with insecurities of not being in control. Instead of pointing fingers and gossiping on many blogs, grow up and stop acting like a child and get out there and volunteer. Being part of any board is hard work and takes constant dedication. You have to sacrifice time away from your family and have to miss out on many games of your own children. So before you judge anyone without having all of the facts, don't attack people that are hard working, dedicated, and in it for all the right reasons.

Holy Smokes! This is my sons first year playing Pop Warner and I must say I am not impressed! The first day of practice I was told we had like 5 days to sell crap and come up with money for a fundraiser. Then they make us buy a shirt for practice then a week later they handed out free practice jerseys?? Everything so half-assed. The picture were not on the day they were suppose to be. First game is in 3 days and my son only has his pants that he has to return at the end of the season. WTF are we paying for??$200 and everythng has to be returned at the end of the season. I understand the feild cost money, but not that much! They are freaking milking everybody for every red cent. Come on,, and get your shit toether!
After this season my son will be done with Pop Warner! He will be playing Jr. all american next year.

My son played for MPW for 3 years, 2006, 2007 & 2008. We both enjoyed the league and community. We didn't always win, but man we had the BEST uniforms around! I've been around football and leagues my whole life, and MPW isn't much different than the others. I think most of the bitter people probably had a son who didn't get on the field as much as his parents would have liked. That's part of the game. The most athletic, skilled kids play MORE, period! That's why EVERY league has a minimum play rule. If the less skilled kids played the whole game, you'd never win. I know, I know... it's about the kids. But no kid wants to lose every game 50-0. And do you notice how loud and rowdy the parents get on gameday? It's not just about the kids then! Is it? Sadly, many kids who played for MPW had no business being in football. But their dad insisted on it! Football is not for every kid. That's why soccer exists during the football season. In closing, I never had an issue with MPW, it's coaches or board members. They were all very nice and helpful. They worked hard as volunteers! My son enjoyed his years with MPW and so did I. Shout out to Coach Scott Mull! Thank you for all you did for Ruben!-Robert Rodriguez

Yes. They have.
It's about the kids until the other team is beating the "stacked team"
