Your report that the Press-Enterprise was sold to an Orange County owner
is "heads-up" news for citizens wise enough to be active participants in
the management of their community's land-water-energy. This sale may
curtail the massive disinformation program of land developers since the
'80s that allowed them extort as much public wealth as the bond debt
they left behind.(Several billion has been stolen from through unneeded
government services/facilities and inappropropriate approvals.)

Here in San Diego County primary news services were acquired recently by
a land developer for reasons some folks suspect have to do with deception
of voters, although others think this may have ended a long period of voter
deception. We at CRWM see a change for the better because where our facts
and figures were denied to Riverside and San Diego area voters by news services through the '90s but the "new" Union Tribune here has allowed a
series of comments in its Forum about land-water-energy planning options.

We are pointing out how the massive Temecula-Murrieta area water fraud
during the '90s is being repeated here because most San Diego voters are
simiiarly too 'laid-back' to invest several hours a week in doing their civic
duty of protecting the health-safety-welfare of family and friends.
As in Riverside County, they've been so 'dumbed down' by incomplete and
inaccurate information from public servants that they elect fools and crooks
who ignore what common sense dictates.(New debt for inappropriate
services and facilities is rising at more than $11 million daily.)

You didn't mention obvious differences between OC/Riverside counties:

OC has a broad range of sensible programs underway to catch its rainwater
to progressively reduce use of imported water while eliminating floods and pollution to save each homeowner thousands of dollar yearly by avoiding
flood control and stormwater treatment schemes.

Riverside County's has a broad range of outdated, unneeded programs that
are bleeding the public of its wealth in so many ways that badly informed
voters cannot see where they are being conned into electing nitwits and
crooks who approve whatever the land-water-energy profiteers propose.
