Stripper turned real estate agent, sounds to be an easy transition. What with all the foreclosures on homes, both occupations seem to pander to the fantasy of people.

1 With all the ills of the world going on (notably the stock crisis on Wall Street), do we really have to get worked up about something so inconsequential as that? Gimme a Ba-Reak. |

1 Nice slant on the story, trying to make her sound legit by painting her as a real estate agent and mother of three. |

It's ok, tradespeople do it all the time, but it's reportable and taxable income. This lawyer has a meeting with the Internal Revenue Service on his calendar.(Whether he knows it or not.) |

For the first time in history, the lawyer didn't hand off the work to an underpaid secretary and was actually present while working on the client's case. Perhpas the next time I need legal help I'll throw in a stripper so they pay attention.

Really, as long as he listed the services as payment in kind for the dances, I don't see how he broke any laws. Might be some unethical behavior as far as the Illinois Bar is concerned, but reciprocation is common. How much did she feel a lap dance was worth anyway?

Listed those services on his taxes that is...

The essence of the problem. He still put it to her, monetary wise. Professional courtesy should be professional courtesy. |

Wait Wait Wait...I see a different angle here.
She is a stripper, exotic no less doing paid lap dancing as her profession. He is a regular at the strip joint, she needs legal help, contact him and they barter and exchange all goes well until she becomes a mom and wife, then she needs to explain to her husband why she is doint the attorney for legal fees and then turns it around to look like the attorney is doing wrong. She had a messed up life, he had a good one....she got a better life and messed up his!!!!! |

While some would argue that a person who engages in stripping for money is far from the most honorable person, however there are degrees of crimes and dishonorable activities.
And it is hard to imagine anything more dishonorable or sleazier than being willing to voluntarily associate with the typioal lawyer. For that "crime", we should definitely throw the book at her. |
