OPEN LETTER TO THE BOARD OF MCS

Dear board members:

As a concerned citizen, and as a outraged taxpayer let me tell you how ashamed I feel for the kind of issues that are happening under your own noses at MCS.

It is a disgrace to this city, the state of Tennessee and to this country, that our school system (the very foundation of our future) is being managed with such irresponsibility. I can not keep myself of thinking about those schools with no enough or unprepared teachers, not enough supplies and poor curriculums. All that matters is how good I do for my friends and business associates.

Shame on you for allowing bureaucracy crush learning and caring. Shame on you for putting thousands of children on the edge of failure. Shame on you for just talking business_money wise, during your meetings and forgetting you must important responsibility towards your constituents: Education!

Shame on you for allowing people like Kriner Cash to run the sacred right of education as an ill corporate endeavor_Wall Street style, including its bonuses.

I have had enough of such cynicism, and I challenge you all to be up to the standards you sworn to defend when took office. Have the courage and civil responsibility to fire all those malignant people who are cashing out of our children, Kriner Cash the first.

Take the courage to dig dip into those multi-million contracts MCS manage. Get rid of the unnecessary consultants and security directors, get rid of overwhelming bureaucracy, get rid of cronyism, and of those abusing the system and the taxpayers.

Do a service to this city and to this country. Do not behave and do not allow other to behave like "banana republic" rulers.

I challenge you to stand up for what is right. I don't really understand how you can have a good night sleep while allowing corruption take over the institution you were elected to defend.

I do not know the moral, or religious preferences of any of you. But let me tell you, if you have a conscience you can not remain silent, and impassible before what is going on in MCS.

Regards,

Bernardo A. Zapata

Channel 3 has not been on Direct TV for the past several hours. I assume it is sprinkling rain somewhere in western Arkansas or somewhere in Oklahoma and you have pre-empted programming?

I just finished watching a piece about the Church Health Center and was waiting for the location to be announced during the story. Guess what? I am never suprised by the basics being left out of stories by "journalists." It reminds me of a story you did a few a years ago about a church fire in south Memphis, but listed NO specific location!

IE the egg recall - Not everyone HAS access to the internet. Esp in this economy (I have to use the library). I just bought eggs when this hit, and have been scared to eat them. You could ease stress by giving more details. PLEASE!- just put the codes affected so far in your ticker at the bottom.... SOMEthing (these are the recalled codes I've found so far - P1026, P1720, P1091, P1942, P1413, P1946, P1686 or P1951) THIS is something you should spend more time on, if only to give the numbers. thank you

Has your station considered reporting this black eye for the state of Tennessee?

To whom it may concern. I am employed in the hospitality industry. it has become increasingly harder through the years to make the necessary money required to pay my bills. i know i am not alone. i would prefer for myself and my employer to stay annonymous. Surely I am not the first to bring this to your attention, and will certainly not be the last. We provide a service for which we expect to be compensated. We all understand that times are tough for everyone. That includes us. I hesitate to think that there are still people out there that do not know we are paid a meger two dollars and thirteen cents an hour. Our income is solely determined by the tips we make off of the guests that come through our doors. There may have been a day where an eight or ten percent tip was acceptable, today is not that day. Even if we are tipped an average of fifteen percent per check, that doesn't not count to the required tip out we must pay at the end of our shifts. It would be greatly appreciated if you as a new station could bring this to light so that we do not have to stress as much as we do about how to pay the many bills we are overwhelmed with.

Thank you for your time.

I'm curious as to why you don't show the ATP tennis at 11:00am CT today (Sunday). I know its being provided on the national CBS feed and would like to see the sports when they are live.

I was on facebook tonight and was playing a game. They had a add for a new game called pot country. Obviously from the name you can guess what its about. I clicked on it out of curiosity to see what it detailed and it had diff names of types of seeds of marijuana that you could plant grow and sell. I feel this is inappropriate content to be on such a global networking site that many minors are apart of.

Tonight I saw something that disturbs me more than the crime, corruption, and typical "memphis news" on your "pass it on" portion of the show. The fact that an elderly woman who has had a stroke... or two i believe if i heard correctly, and lives in a house the size of my small apartment can be bulldozed by MLGW for a 580$ utility bill is disgusting. Energy was a brilliant idea that should excel humanity, not to rip off our sick and elderly. As a whole our Government and trusted leaders once again remind me of why a disgruntled citizen flew his plane into an IRS building out of what i imagine to be pure american spirit. If someone steals your families savings and hope for the future you work hard each day for...they should have theyre hand cut off. Yet in this country thieves and crooks prosper. The story on the MS man facing life in prison hopefully catches on. if you commit a crime in MS you better have the fear of god in your eyes. i think MS will grow more upstanding citizens with this attitude. Politicians and Government employees or elected officials should face the same fear if they are deciding to break the law or not.---signed flying my plane into your building soon!(but of course not yours news channel 3 i like you guys ha ha) GOD DAMN AMERICA!--obamas preacher..... and Fuck DA police---ice cube.

I would like to nominate a friend to be a recepient of Pass-it-on. I work with Shenita Thompson at Crittenden Regional Hospital. She is one of our unit secretary. She is a single-mother and tries to make a living while trying to take a college course. In the last flood, she had to vacate her apartment because the owners cannot afford to make repairs.Currently, she and her daughter lives with her sister and her sister's family. Her car also got flooded and no longer works. She cannot afford a replacement so she had to borrow her sister's car or get a ride wherever she can. Unfortunately, she was not able to enroll this semester because of all these financial dificulties. I hope you could let me help her. Thanks.

Thank you for the segment on Hurricane Katrina's damage along the MS Gulf Coast. Most news media seldom mention the damage the state of MS suffered, not just along the Gulf but for miles inland, also.

The sound FX between each story is just TOO much. DA DA DA!! Why does that FX have to be used so many time during a broadcast? I watch with my thumb on the mute button.

There was a shooting right outside the front door of a close friend of mine with more than several police cruisers and an ambulance that bagged a body but didn't speed off to the hospital. I never saw any coverage by any of the local stations. Why is it that when there's a shooting, it's dismissed; but someone in Bartlett/Cordova gets a hang-nail, and it's front page news?

Disappointed. Thats all I can say about not airing Titans Games. I was told by programming last year that it wasn't being shown because of their record. But as the season progressed, and their record improved, still no Titans. Tonight the game being aired isn't even a Regional game. I pay DishNetwork to have your channel, but obviously this is a mistake.
