R.I.P TO THE CHILD. THIS IS SAD. I REMEMBER WHEN CHILDREN COULD PLAY OUTSIDE FOR HOURS AT A TIME WITH FEW WORRIES. MY HEART IS WITH THE FAMILY, AND TO THE GUILTY, I HOPE YOU CAN SLEEP AT NIGHT KNOWING YOU HAVE TAKEN A LIFE.

Okay ya'll, time to preach and teach.
WE HAD ALL BETTER OPEN OUR EYES, SEE WHAT'S
HAPPENING IN THIS WHOLE WIDE WORLD, AND REALIZE
WE CANNOT LEAVE GOD OUT OF AMERICA. WE ARE GOING
DOWNHILL FAST AND THOSE WHO DON'T BELIEVE IT WON'T
HAVE ANYONE TO CRY TO WHEN THEY HAVE DISRESPECTED
OUR LORD, OUR MORALS AND THE WAYS THAT MADE THIS COUNTRY GREAT FROM THE VERY BEGINNING.
Just live, laugh and have fun...never have to pay to play...WRONG.

My sincere condolences to the family. Please get counseling for the surviving brother; most likely this will affect him for some time to come, maybe the rest of his life.

I am afraid to walk the streets for fear of being mugged. As neighbors, we all need to do our part to make our streets safe for pedestrians.

Very sad. 17 and dead because people out there have no regard for human life. My condolences to the family.

This is the sad part about this whole matter, we are "ALL" afraid to walk the streets of Memphis even in the broad day light, but are we "MAD" enough to do anything about it? We are the ones who live in these communities where all of this killing is taking place, but "WE" are just sitting by and complaining hoping that someone outside of our neighborhoods will correct this problem for us. If something isn't done immediately this is only going to get worse, so wake up Memphis Communities and get "VERY MAD," and lets do something about it now. I'm just saying!

Another problem I see is when the law finally does go into the high crime area's and start arresting the people doing wrong then the same people crying for help start bashing the police because they are locking up there kinfolk.

Gee, I don't know why my brother would be shot..he was a nice guy, the gang he was in never hurt people too bad when they robbed them.......

This was not random, dude had irritated someone. Brother was lying out his behind.

it may be hard to imagine but the brother may very well have not done anything wrong. This may have been a gang initiation. Yes, they kill people to get in the gang. And the day's when we COULD walk along the streets free of fear are long gone. Thugs in those days feared the law because the police put you in jail for an actual long time!!!

This kid did what to deserve this? What is the world coming to when a kid cant even walk the streets without being gunned down. Who is not raising their children with the ideation that violence is acceptable. Violence begets violence and stupidity begets ignorance.

Who care, probably a gang member. If the black community doesn't care, I don't!

This sad that it happened, but I am sure he knew who shot him. Of course, the shoote was scared so he shot him in the back. I am sure the "brother" also knows more than what he said he does. This morning he was saying he couldn't shed a tear for his brother. He looked so cold. I hope he can find peace. I hope the killer get caught also and has to pay the price.

I wish they would catch these cowards and prosecute them. We need to treat them like dogs that attack people and maul them to death. We uthenize them. So if they want to run like the big dogs, then treat them like the dogs they have become.

We are prisoners in our own homes. We can't say anything without it having to be politically correct! When we try to correct the situation there will will be the ACLU gumming up the works if not some lawyer stirring up hatred with what they say is a loop hole in the law! Those in power don't care as long as it dose not rock their boat! Well I hope something can be done to alleviate this problem before rage turns into unlawful results!

another senseless act. I moved back to shelby county after 8 yrs in W. Palm Beach to help take care of my Dad. I remember when Southwind was an exclusive area. Guess no one is safe in this crime ridden county. I can't wait to clear out of this place again.

I say offer on television $5,000.00 cash for information that convicts this murderer. IT'S CHEAPER TO CONVICT ( CORRECTLY ) and give the death penalty quickly than to house these peices of crap for 20 years. Make a public example of this one and every other murderer in MEMPHIS.

Hope your family get's over this quickly and that you get some resolution to your loss.

Why not?

When was the last time you saw on the news:

1. A car full of white people pulling a drive by
2. A gang of white people starting a fight outside a high school
3. A white person doing a car jacking
4. A group of white people looting people's homes
5. A group of white people gang raping a woman

I'll let you think on it and get back to me after awhile.
