I think sneeking drugs into the facility is really so not appropriate. When I visited my daughter there, I had to purchase any snacks for her right from the vending machines that are ib the visitation room with a com-tec card that I had to purchase before i could even go inside the building. Our visitations was taken away from her for 1 year only because she had ask to see her daddy's watch, that her grandmother had given to him, which was her grandfathers in the beginning. Well, when visititatin was over daddy forgot to get the watch back from her, only because they were rushing everybody out. well my daughter got caught with a stupid watch and they took away her visits from anyone for a solid year! I just wonder if they really do realize what kind of mental problems they cause some of the inmates over stupid shit like that! Drugs and Weapons yes they should get severe punishment but a really and truly honest mistake,it doesn't make sense!!! she has been locked up for almost 7 months and i haven't seen my child but once. she suffers from grammel seizures and has now gone into a really bad state of deppression. she had finally been put on a unit so that she could recieve the help she needs and now they have moved her back to another unit where she is hasseled by other inmates for her commisary and not to mention things that in ways of being brought up are just really sick!!!!! i won't get to see my babygirl for at least another 5 1/2 months maybe!!!!! another thing i have found out about that place is the food, the inmates find BUGS in it at times!!!!!!! i think the health department needs to check it out, but of course it will take more than just my complaint to get anything done about any of this!!!! thanks for listening, i don't know who else to talk to.

Jean,

My son recently was admitted to this place. In his phone call home he said he has been offered more drugs than he ever had access to on the streets or in college. How does this happen? He was in the holding area.

Is it the guards looking to make extra cash or visitors? Do the inmates themselves carry it in when they are admitted? I have a difficult time imagining how horrific this is. I imagine most are there because of drug/alcohol addictions and this is how they are rehabilitated?

I hope your daughter gets through this and I really hope you get to see her soon. It is difficult and painful. My heart goes out to you.

Mom
