this guy needs a lot of prison time and a photo album of the crash and the injured so he can sit around think about what he just did. He needs to spend all of his prison time thinking about this.

This fool definitely deserves prison time, loss of drivers liscense for life and made to pay restuition for the damages and medical bills. I wish the police had a better way to stop drunk drivers instead of chasing them. I know the police are only doinf their job as best as they can but i feel chases cause a lot of these accidents because the fools driving can not control the car to begin with, high speeds only make it worse. Is it possible to use spike strips instead in less populated areas. I am not putting the police down because they seem to have limited resourses to deal with this type of incident. Just need better ways to help the police and protect the public. Thank God no one was seriously hurt.

the " driver " should have received a " rodney king " beating - then taken to the hospital. to the charges they should add attempted murder of everyone involved in the crash.

Yep!!

I am of the belief that the police should position snipers in the area and try to shoot these morons in the face if the chance arises.

of course the jackass causing the problems didn't die in the wreck they never do.
he'll be out in a month and drunk driving again in a month and one week. if ti takes that long.
Like the woman the other day who killed some folks while drunk driving ON HER WAY TO SERVE TIME FOR DRUNK DRIVING!!! This is a repeated story time after time in this country. These people are murderers and should be treated as such. Not that murderers get much more time anyway.

This is the second large wreck these idiot police in southaven have caused in a month. They shouldn't be chasing cars through populated areas. Put these cops on crossing gaurd duty so the can't abuse their badge and cause more damage than would have occured in the first place. IDIOT COPS

I was at the red light of Shelby Drive heading East when this accident happened. I dialed 911 but hung up when I realized that there were police on the scene--SOUTHAVEN POLICE. There is no way (in my opinion) that they called off the chase before this accident happened. This was a terrible thing that could have been much worse. Chasing a DRUNK DRIVER in 5 o'clock traffic on Airways--they really need to think these things over before they proceed. I travel this route to work every morning/afternoon. Traffic is always bumper to bumper it was a STUPID decision for police to pursue this driver in that type of traffic. I understand that the law is the law--but in this case the law did not handle this properly.

You are exactly right. The police in Southaven are rude and abuse their authority. Yes--the guy was wrong for drunk driving--keep him in jail this time. But there is still a way to handle anything and this was not the way. That area is tooooooooooo crowded for a high speed chase.

All i can say is everyone of you saying it's the cops fault need to take a note, he had already hit and ran twice the same day, whats to say he wouldn't have caused more damage if the cops werent chasing him. Come on people if he had hit you, you'd be all up in a roar cuz the cops didn't do anything more.

Maybe they DID try the spike strips before this bustard crossed the state line into Memphis.
Doesn't anyone else believe that the police actually try to avoid having to deal with injured innocents because of their trying to stop a drunk driver, who obviously isn't concerend about not hurting others?

Wow! I am glad everyone one survived! I just don't get why some people choose to drink and drive.

People blaming the police don't get it.

Ever wonder why the perp was busing butt to get back to Memphis? Didn't think so! See Mississippi has a three strikes rule for criminals that just don't get it either.

10 to 1 odds says the perp had a few priors. Just like the accident a few weeks ago.

Tennessee needs a three stikes rule!

I have left the building!

To all you people bashing the police, how do you bright idiots suggest they deal with this person? He had already been involved in two hit and run crashes earlier. If they hadn't done something, ya'll be bitching about that. Better yet, next time something like this happens, why don't you run down there and handle it yourself.
