No I don't live there. I have been to Memphis. It is very nice there! I danced at the White Horse.

Outside the BBQ place stood a tall dark haired man with sunglasses on. A sports car pulled to a stop and he got in. A glimpse of a blonde haired woman driver was all you could manage to see

Across the street, trying his best to look inconspicuous but shifting nervously from one foot to the other, a thin balding man peered over the top of a newspaper. He held the paper high so that only his moist dark eyes could be seen. Hidden by it were sunken cheeks with yesterday's stubble of beard, a nose that pointed slightly to the left, thin tight lips, and the palest complexion ever seen this side of the grave.

Meanwhile...Joe and Carlos finished up their Topp's BBQ and headed outside to leave. They wondered what queer story might be behind the strangers goings on. Then as they were about to exit the parking lot...the sportscar returned, dropping off the tall man with sunglasses. He walked over to the balding man and traded a small bundle of something for an envelope. "Probably just the usual drug deal" Joe said to Carlos. "I see that stuff everyday".

As darkness fell on the city, the players and hustlers began to emerge into the street and pubs for the usual action

The music irritated him. The onset of humanity filling the street irritated him. The odor of stale grease and onions hung on the thick stale air. His feet hurt from standing on that same spot so long; his back ached too, and his eyes watered from the strain of watching the street today. Everything irritated him. But especially the sports car and the man in the sunglasses irritated him. Sometimes he wondered why he even bothered.

As the girl in the sports car pulled away, she thought to herself. Maybe I should go back. His mysterious presence still lingered on the leather set next to her. thats when she looked over and seen the briefcase that he had left behind.

She took the briefcase in with her...surely he would call her soon. She stared at the briefcase...her hand reached down and rubbed one of the latches. She jumped as her phone rang...she answered "hello?". "Hello Jill...Can I swing by later and get my briefcase?"

Jill?!?! She remembered blurting out a fake name to the tall stranger when she picked him up at the airport. She was just doing a favor for a friend, excited at the prospect of driving his exotic sportscar and having nothing to do that afternoon anyway, she liked playing games, but now she wondered what she had gotten herself into.
"Sure, where would you like me to meet you?"
The handsome stranger replied in a deep voice, "I have a room at the Peabody, can you meet me there in 2 hours?"

As she sat at the bar of the Peabody lounge waiting for the handsome stranger her thoughts again went to what was in the briefcase. She had fought the urge to look up until now but the feeling was becoming overwhelming. Again she touched one of the laches.

Oh screw it, she thought to herself. She learned to pick locks like this in jr high. She grabbed the briefcase and walked to the handicapped stall in the restroom. As she strolled into the hallway, 2 men in dark suits fell in behind her. Hmmmm this can't be a coincidence. She knew the hallway to the restroom had only one exit, so she quickly changed direction and walked directly between the 2 men. As she started to walk quicker, their footsteps began to match the pace of hers. Oh no, this can't be good, she thought to herself. At that moment, a group of drunken Elvis impersonators filed out of a doorway, giving enough of a distraction for her to make an escape.

Oh, but good gosh almighty, in her haste to slither through the side exist door, in the heat of the night she realized she had left the briefcase behind in the handicapped stall. In a desparate motion to return to the front entrance of the building, knowing she must elude the two men in dark suits, she abruptly.............
