Police reports from Commack, Huntington, Huntington Station, Me...
#1 Sep 3, 2008
I see another car was vandalized at Huntington Train station. My sports car had almost the same thing happen to it last week (Thurs nite) at the Huntington train station. Window broken, radio and amp (along with other items) stolen. The parking lot is littered with broken glass everywhere (indicating a bunch of break-ins) when I questioned the police and public safety they said they've increased patrols which has "lessened" the amount of theft.
In my case I actually found the theives keys (with a keyfood "coupon" bar code on it). I gave it to the police to track down the criminal and have yet to hear back from them. Something needs to be done about that Station (cameras, 24 hour security) we pay too much in taxes to have this kind of petty theft happening against our residents.

Wow on Sept 26 th I found my car spray painted . I just got an estimate of $8,000.I have asked to see the security tapes but have not heard back yet. No one seems to be too concerned . This is terrible ,apparently no one is held responsible . I want to know how often do the rent a cops go around the lot and did they think I drove my car to the station with curses all over it !!

Catch the bus to the train station and you would not have to worry about your vehicle being vandalized....Is Orange and White still stationed there?

Mike and Sue, no one cares because it didn't happen to them. The both of you probably won't get any satisfaction and the problems at the station will continue. The ONLY way to resolve this matter is to have a huge group of good old boys with baseball bats hiding in the shadows waiting for these scumbags to strike again. Then spring into action and clean up the mess that the police won't do or can't do. They say they've increassed patrols, big deal. A cop drives by, glances at the lot and continues on his way to Dunkin Donuts. That's their interpertation of police surveilance. It's a lost cause unless the general public takes matters into their own hands.

In the 1980s there were kids in Commack that were vandalizing homes and cars, and hanging out in the streets with attitudes. The police were ineffective. Out of frustration, one night, a group of 4 adult men with baseball bats and ski masks had a "talk" with the troublemakers. Problem solved. Of course I wouldn't advocate such behavior, because it's illegal.

It happened again! Dirtbags broke a window of my car with a brick to find absolutely NOTHING inside. Called public safety with no other reason in mind except to tell them what a sad operation they're running at the Huntington Train station. Same old song as my post 2 years ago! Same NEW piles of glass all over the lot. My plan: to leave vehicle open to save $$ on broken glass, maybe they'll steal my station car...
