Hey Rob,
I have seen three of these scales two of which I purchased for over $1200.00 in Mint Condition. These Scales are a rare breed especially if they remain in good and non-refinished condition. Individuals who recondition this type of item serve to increase the value of the remaining scales in original condition. Does anyone have the actual original weight that are meant to accompany this item?

I have a grain scale for sale, and I am in Manotick, on the south side of Ottawa. Mine is very similar to the one at Young's Antiques in Belleville (see 2 above); it has a painted scale bar while theirs has a brass bar. If the brass is worth an extra $600 to you, good on ya! I am asking $695 and would be happy to send pix. My email: tom.stephens@magma.ca.

I have a grain scale I'd like to sell. It says "Pembroke Can", "The National xx Co.", "Patented" on one end of the brass balance bar and has various stampings on the other end including "Cap 2000lbs", "17618" "ERR" with a crown and "9". The scale is unrefinished and the wood looks to be original.

My email is caledongrp@hotmail.com and I am located near Orangeville, ON.

Too weird....I just came across one of these from a home that I helped clean out and it was being used as a coffe table. It is the exact scale you are speaking of. It has Renfrew Scale Co. 1911 stenciled in black on the wood and I was about to put it up on EBAY. I live in CT and would be happy to send you a picture if you like in case you knew anyone that would want an additional one....I'd be willing to part with it for $300

I have a grain scale - fully working. Thinking about selling it and friends told me I should be asking $450 - 600 for it. I am told refinished ones sell for $1000 as coffee tables at Restoration Hardware. Does anyone know about this?

Thanks,
Alex

I have a Renfrew Grainscale table that I bought at an auction in 1995. I had to have the top replaced as it was well used but the table is beautiful and crazy heavy. I am interested in selling it.

I am wondering if anyone has knowledge of two faced porcelain teapots? The teapot is very old by the crazing and colours and has a woman's face on one side and a male deity face on the other...I can't find any markings on it. It was given to me by a friend from an auction.
