A parent's worst nightmare. How sad. Prayers to the poor family, and all his young friends.

I cannot possibly fathom what it would be to lose a child. I have 3 of my own, 2 who grew up with Brandon and played baseball on the Wheatley High School team with him. He was a good kid.

To see such venom come from few of the above respondees above who didn't even know Brandon or his family, or even the circumstances of the accident leads me to believe that you who sit by with nothing better to do with your time than sling suppositions should give thought.

YOU are the morons.

brandon was one of my son's best friends. he was a kind and loving child who DID enjoy life and was always a pleasure to be around.
he was beloved by all his friends and was liked throughout the school.
his tragic death last nite is just that: tragic. he was not reckless nor any indication of anything more than an accident to a young driver.

the condolences of all Wheatley families goes to the Lustigs, a loving and caring family well-known in the community and giving of their time and efforts for years.

i cannot imagine their grief at this time and would ask any and all commenters to just stay off this board and keep their thoughtless ideas to themselves.

many children, parents and teachers cared for brandon. he will be missed by all of us.

i send my prayers to the Lustigs at this time of their bereavement, and offer any assistance or help in any way to the family.

fyi, the wheatley school will be open tomorrow for children, teachers, and parents to meet with counselors to deal with the grief generated by this tragedy.

andy cee...I see you're from flushing...you've got so much traffic there that you couldn't possibly be in an accident. So what gives you the right or knowledge to comment on this?

Well, Brandon got it right, no "going to be a tomorrow." Oh, no mo having fun. Poor Mr. Loriston, having to live with the memory of Mr. Fun-Loving's sudden introduction and exit from LIFE!!!!! Feel bad for Mr. Loriston.
Betcha the grandparents of proud to have given Mr. Fun-Loving a Lexus. Bye, bye Brandon, not gonna "mist" ya.
And you're just another jerk in the scheme of life with nothing to do but prey on the sadness of others. Go to another site and insult someone else who you know nothing about.

My deepest condolences Brandon's family. It doesnt matter who is at fault, or if there was fault at all. Like another poster said, sometimes accidents just happen. This family has lost a child in such a tragic way. All you trolls, just remember, There but for the grace of God go I"...
Rest with the Angels in peace Brandon.

The truth is, to anyone who doesn't know Brandon personally or his family, you have no basis to judge. I went to school with Jason, so I didn't know his brother, but he deserves some respect.
How dare anyone leave such nasty comments! No one knows what happened, and a news article can only tell you so much, but the fact is it was a TRAGIC ACCIDENT and brandon lost his life. Family and friends lost someone they loved...let them grieve!! How would you feel if you lost someone you loved? How would you feel burying your own child?
You have to be heartless and even soulless to say cruel things at a time like this...
To Jason and his family, I am so sorry this happened and my heart goes out to you

Yeah, but ...

Sometimes underage kids do not have the experience to be driving around at night.

The cold hard math is that he was more likely to have an accident.

LI parents should take notice. Once it's dark, or the weather is bad, kids should not be out on the road.

Brandon was a great guy, one of the nicest guys I have ever met. He was one of a kind with his great sense of humor, kindness, and generosity. Before I met Brandon I didn't really have any true friends...however, after I met him we instantly bonded and he treated me as an equal. I will never forget the great times we had together. Rest in peace....I will always miss you man!

In Honor of Brandon Lustig...
the comments and judgements being made toward Brandon and this tragic accident are so defiant and unjust, im honestly EMBARRASSED for you people! I hope you realize how precious your own life is and how quickly it can be taken from you! Your words are trivial and small and show nothing but lack of respect for your own human life. One day God will break your heart with humility...show you what its like to be human again.

keep up the attitude it will come back to you one day..
...you're probably a sociopath who lives vicariously through other people's grief, so i pity you for living that kind of life..
I'm sure if I were in the car with him I would have tried to save his life
