My daughter and her 3 friends arrived on the scene moments after the accident. They called 911 and went to see how the driver of the car was. They tried to help and console him(1 is a firefighter EMT). So very sorry to hear about Brandon. Our prayers to him and his family.

how dare you! this is an awful thing that happened! you should be ashamed of yourself for commenting like this! this was a poor kid who lost control of his car. you have NO right to say that! "like so many other LI kids"!? that is one of the most disgusting things i've ever heard in my life. how dare you try and lump a very special person into one group of many. as for "slow down" i don't think you have ever really seen the way those trucks drive on glen cove. THEY are the speeders. brandon was a victim and this is a tragedy for all in the area. your callous judgement on a teen you do not know is so wrong. my heart goes out to the lustigs in this very hard time. they deserve respect, not this disgusting remarks about their lost child.

I knew Brandon for 14 years as a family friend. He was a wonderful, thoughtful, level headed boy. To Slow Down and JDLI, you obviously did not know him and the idea that you would write the comments that you did is hurtful. When his brother, in a state of grief, says he always had fun and he lived his life like there was going to be no tomorrow, I am sure what he meant was that Brandon was easy going, generous, kind and loving to all who were lucky enough to have known him. He was not reckless, he was a great human being. Not only is his presence going to be missed terribly, but our world lost a very bright star. Please think of how your comments hurt those who grieve his passing.

SLOW DOWN, YOUR COMMENT WAS WAY OFF BASE AND EXTREMELY INSENSITIVE. NOWHERE IN THAT ARTICLE DID I SEE THE WORD "SPEEDING". OBVIOUSLY, YOU'RE NOT A PARENT AND I HOPE YOU NEVER WILL BE.
REST IN PEACE BRANDON, GREAT KID, BRIGHT FUTURE, MY SINCEREST CONDOLENCES TO HIS FAMILY, FRIENDS AND CLASSMATES.

what the f#@@$ is matter with you people, you have no right to put your two sense in where it doesn't belong. you have no idea who Brandon Lustig is so back off. we know him, we know who he is, and he is nothing like you are making him out to be. what do you do, look through articles of deaths and trash people?

RIP, Brandon. We never got along; I just wish we had a chance to... We've hated each other since the 8th grade, I just wanted to say I'm sorry, I truly am. If I could take back what I've done, I would.

Andy Cee all i can say is that your an ignorant individual. How can you possibly judge and mock Brandon in this situation. Whoever you are grow the fuck up and learn to keep such ridiculous statements like the ones above in your pathetic head.
RIP BRANDON,IM GONNA MISS YOU.

My heart goes out to the ones he left behind.

Unfortunately the statement "It was most important that he always had fun," Jason Lustig said. "He lived life like there wasn't going to be a tomorrow." is going to be ripped apart by people looking for a rise from his friends and family. The best you all can do is ignore it and not give them the satisfaction of seeing your rage and pain.

TO ALL THE MORONS PASSING JUDGEMENT.....COMPASSION WILL COST YOU NOTHING, BUT THE OBVIOUS SARCASM SHOWN BY" ANDY CEE" WILL COST HIM DEARLY AT SOME POINT IN HIS , WHAT SEEMS TO BE A VERY SORRY AND SAD LIFE. THIS YOUNG MAN WAS SOMEONES SON, BROTHER AND BEST FRIEND, FROM YOUR DISGUSTING COMMENTS YOU OBVIOUSLY ARE NONE OF THE ABOVE....TO ANYONE. YOU ARE A SICK, SICK, "THING" I KNOW OF NO OTHER WORD FOR SOMEONE WHO WOULD POST SUCH AWFUL COMMENTS. NO GUESSWORK WHERE YOU'L BE GOING WHEN YOU MEET YOUR MAKER.....STRAIGHT TO HELL.

I am so sorry about this terrible loss.

I met the Lustigs 14 years ago when our boys were in kindergarten together. I have never heard one bad word about anybody in the entire family.

This is not the time to be casting judgment upon a young man who was loved by many and whose family is suffering.

Please be kind and remember the golden rule.

As the parent of a 17-year-old boy myself and as someone who is familiar with that area, my heart goes out to the family Brandon left behind. I did not know him or his family.

There was nothing in the article about Brandon speeding or about drugs or alcohol being involved. Sometimes, an accident is just that, an accident - a tragic miscalculation of time and speed or distance, of how long it would take to travel a certain distance or the like. The article does not address who was at fault, if anybody was.

As for Brandon's brother's words, please bear in mind that his brother is also a teenager and a griefstricken one at that. I did not take his comments to mean that Brandon was reckless, but rather that he was joyful and delighted in life, lived to the fullest in the moment.

May the mourners of Zion comfort the Lustig family in their time of sorrow.
