I'm totally with you on this one... not really sure why they're such a big deal -- seems easier to legally own a gun than fireworks... stupid. I've always lived by people setting them off year-round too, and I never hear police or ambulance sirens afterward.

The police should spend their time going after real criminals.

What is the average mental age in America, 13?

Loud booms = entertainment?

I think the average mental age has dropped.

The mental age dropped when people started putting 2,3,and 4 video screens in their vehicles. At least fireworks stimulate the mind - what does BARNEY THE PURPLE DINOSAUR STIMULATE?

I insert firecrackers in my head holes and shoot roman candles out of my butt. my neighbors find it very stimulating to watch. On my block, they call me the human pinata.

I miss the days of M80's and Blockbusters. Can't find those anywhere. Even South of the Border in SC.
I was shocked to find out that M-80s and cherry bombs are now federally outlawed. It is a federal felony to own a stinking M-80! LOL.

But I can drive down the road a bit to Walmart and buy as much .45 caliber ammo as I want.

I have to admit I've never understood the mentality behind people who enjoy explosions, unless you get a kick out of scaring children and startling the elderly.
The truth is they are dangerous, especially in populated areas. several years ago in Brooklyn a family of six died when a bottle rocket shot lodged on their roof and started a fire. As an attorney I get an average of five calls a year after the 4th asking me to do the near impossible and defend a case where a "harmless" firework found the eye of some boy or girl down the block.(I know, its' the kid's fault for not hiding in the house and conceding the streets to the selfish few. You prbably don't hear the sirens because of the noise around you.

Fireworks are legal here in Florida. I don't personally handle them so I leave them in the hands of professionals.

I remember a few years ago when some idiot threw a lit cigarette into a fireworks store. Too many people were either killed or maimed because of him. I do believe he's doing hard time in some prison.

Good! these morons deserve it, I hope
they will arrest them all; here
in Eat Islip there more morons that pollute the air every night of the week, every month of the year. No respect for the earth and people's health.
Thank you to the police department

My old parents cannot breathe well because these idiots want war instead of peace.
Horrible noises and horrible smells every evening
and night.
Maybe these idiots should join the army, they got
time and the desire for chemicals in their veins.

West, East, Central Islip evil humans are in conspiracy with
our peace and wish of keeping healthy.

Many people complaint but no one is doing anything about us here. Fire works lovers, who constantly pollute our air, are above the law.

I came to visit my parents here in
West Islip before I went to work
and while talking to them we heard fire works
from across the street. Its noon, now.
Teen agers or adults?

Can somebody, please, make them stop?

Where are the police that guard West Islip street?

Last night there were too many thrown in the air.
It was suffocating for all living here Help"
