This poor women should sue the homeowner and get millions. How dare he allow this to happen in a house that he probably should not have been renting. He should be imprioned or made to live with mites all over his private parts

I think we may have the same thing in our neighborhood. Birds built a nest in the CVS. I have felt needle like bites.

I also believe this woman was probably stressed out from paying high rent. If she had not been, she would have calmly removed the nest when it was first built. The landlord should have done that, but Long Island landlords don't look after their properties like they should. Our whole block is neglected by absentee landlords. No one sweeps autumn leaves. They stay there indefinitely. I guess they contribute to politicians. No fines or anything.

So the doctors announcing this infestation is not harmful or contagious is complletely outrageous! I have been dealing with this for 10 years, taking antibiotics, skin creams, pain meds, thyroid meds.. The fruniture was and gets infested daily, so please dont beelive that this is something easy to get rid of. I have to clean and vacuum all my furniture and walls, clothes and curtains almost daily, to live as comfortably as I can.
Wouldn't it be easier to set fire to your clothes, house, furniture, curtains, etc.; Take a shower daily and start all over!!

Here we go again with the media crazed Kenneth Mollins.

Are all his clients N U T S? The press should start dismissing instead of indulging this delusional lawyer.

If you watch him closely you will find he is emotionally imbalanced and appears to have Tourette's syndrome. I know him to be an unethical, incompetent attorney who after conning his clients into paying him large retainer fees, stalks the media demanding negative attention, then he becomes sadistic so his clients dump him before he actually has to do the case work.

His media expertise is suspect and his legal work is deplorable.

ok what the heck are these things. 3 perm treatments, trip to 2 derm. with no scrapings should be done with the scabies according to them. trip to emergency room for scraping which showed possible "lint." these are small white mites which burrow under skin. they also can fly not hop. almost like dust particles. do you find other dermatologists? can I treat with perm again-last one was 3 weeks ago and I am the only host. I have no answers but to go off the deep end. Was told to consider counseling because it is in "my head " at this point-but I can see with magnifiying glass and was bitten in car again tonight. I am off suger but not helping. Praying and pleading to be released of this crap in my body. SOMEBODY HELP -WHAT ARE THESE THINGS?

I contracted bird mites this summer, and live in silent pain. My first cries for help was seen as dramatic, and I have been ignored. My doctor insist on trating for scabies, now I am studying & researching to find a cure of my own. Eradication of this mites is a goal that drives me crazy. I of heard of those who commit suicide & hope I never suffer such fate.
I can't believe you have been fighting this battle for 10 years. My heart & prayers for your recovery.

My cousin in Maryland broke out in a severe rash after working in the yard.

She remembered having removed a bird nest from some branches. Maybe that was the cause.

I called the Smithsonian Institution and spoke to a bird expert who had often come in contact with nests. He said that mites and lice in a bird nest do not infect humans. He was certain that some other toxin was involved, probably poison ivy, which can take on a variety of appearances. This was in 1989.

Yeah I've had the same problem. And dermatologist don't know what to do because they don't know what the hell a bird mite looks like it even let alone what it does. Only people that do are ectomologist. Which I still need to test these bastards with. I kind of lost all hope...and I've tried everything. I don't have 5k to thrown down for a bomb so, what are you gonna do? Just wait...I guess. Either death or a fast cure, haha. So Sad but this is what it is and it sucks.

you have to be a real pig to not notice an insect infestation in your home.

I called Orkin and they had one of their bird mite specialists call me immediately. They use a chemical, I do not recall the name, that will get rid of them. There is no other chemical out there that will get rid of the bird mites. They reproduce like crazy. You can kill most of them with bleach and water, but they hide in dark places. I read alot of useful information on www.birdmites.org They are sooo tiny you can't even see them. I just recently found some in my home, due to some bird feathers I had purchased. Thank God, I noticed them imediately. I have two small children and was sooo scared for them. I am a complete neat freak and my home is spotless. This was devastating. I sent the company, that I ordered the feathers from, two emails. I haven't heard back. I just want them to be aware. These insects can live without a host for 8-9 months. Hope this helps.

There are different types of bird mites and they host on any living organism. NOT JUST BIRDS. There is a ton of useful information on www.birdmites.org . Please check it out. The first thing Orkin asked was if I had a bird nest around/on my home. I told him no and told him that I had purchased bird feathers. He told me that this wasn't the first case. The exterminator is at my home, as we speak. I will report back in a week to let you know if it worked.

I have Chronic fatigue and now with these bird mites I'm losing my will to live. Ok so I was thinking about just walking away from everything and moving to some arid location out west. With constant body treatment would this prove suscessful?

I have found that coating yourself completely with a cosmetic with dimethicone as a main ingredient will give releif for an hour. It smothers them. I think what happens though is once the dimethicone dries any mites in your clothes begin to attack again.

the $1700 Kirby vacuum supposedly picks up mites. There are also room bombs.

Also read on the internet yesterday Arm and Hammer detergent in a solution, spray on everything gets rid of them. That's tonights project
