Review: Cattlemans Steakhouse Inc

Lindenhurts and Cattlemans, both get great smell from Bergen Point Sewer treatment plant, stinks like low side all the time, but it is from the sewer plant just a few blocks away or raw sewer dumpage in to the bay many times a week. TRASHy area.

As bad as Cattlemans was, the town surrounding Cattlemans is worse, you look across the street at seedy and gross motel no tells and degrading and low life's circling around Lindenhurst all hours of the day and night.
Does anyone in Lindenhurst own a shower?
Lindenhurst is bad and everything they bash it about here on topic and google just a town filled with low lifes

I will say one more thing: Lindenhurst do they not know what a dentist is or anyone own a tooth brush in Lindenhurst or take a shower this town is loaded with low life dirt bags?
Who in their right mind would have opened a restaurant in Lindenhurst? the cheap labor you get, most kids are cracked and whacked out from Lindenhurst untrustworthy and drop outs.

Check the Suffolk County Department of Health Services Restaurant Inspection Information website. Thank God that Cattlemen's is not allowed to serve food anymore, it isn't even listed on the open restaurant list which shows restaurants that are permitted to serve food. The last inspection must have been so bad, it got banned.

People can now rest easy that the Department of Health shut it down.

English is my first language, just that statements made about a place is not exactly the truth. drove by the other day, and the place was open with the parking lot almost full. But how would you know that coming from philly.

I live not too far from it and have passed it before, not sure if they are open or closed and the link didn't seem to work for dept of health or I just couldn't find them there anyway.

Is the restaurant really that bad? If it is, I am surprised if it is in business.

No, I just came on here to have a laugh about what folks are saying. I have a life, even with a heart attack and a machine in my chest. It's the summer, try to get out folks and enjoy life. The cattlemen is not has bad has a lot of folks say. It a nice restaurant, but not a steakhouse. It could compete with Olive garden, Applebee, Fridays. but not a steakhouse. So folks, Labor day is coming soon, I am ready to party this weekend and every weekend coming. has long has the weather is good, I have a life and not concern about a neigborhood reataurant. Take care. What I still find amazing is that folks register from out of state seems to be the biggest knockers. Did there drive all the way to try the restaurant. WOW.

Well, I decided to go there and though I believe many of the reviews are quite an exaggeration, this is not a good restaurant at all.

The place was empty save for 1-2 staff members, they have not even half the steaks on the menu in stock and there was a sign stating this, the floors at the entrance were dirty and the ceiling appears to be caving in. I did not stay to eat.

So, although the name calling and putdown of Lindenhurst itself makes the authors appear to be unreliable, there is some truth to it.

The place appears to be unmaintained, even basic cleaning and important repairs appear neglected. The grounds outside consisted of pavers that were very dirty (power washer could easily have fixed), weeds growing through cement and pavers (this is easily sprayed) and a garden full of ... you guessed it, more weeds. The dirty entranceway, lack of customers and lack of steaks in a steakhouse sealed the deal for me. I did not eat there, upon entering the room with the ceiling caving in I about faced and left. So, I cannot say whether it was horrible or if people were getting sick, etc.(there were no people in there to get sick). But, I will never return to this restaurant/bar, it just isn't a place I would enjoy being in at all.

They must have reopened because I was in there this week! I wish it was shut down. And, topix scan is way off, I live right here not white plains at all but probably aol changes your locale to wherever.

I think they might be trying to clean it up. It really needed it, it was so dirty, but it looks like they cleaned up some of the swill in the parking lot a bit. Even if they clean it up I cannot forget how dirty they allowed it to get, who is to say what the kitchen must be like if the dining areas were so filthy. I just can't do it.

Drove by early Sunday evening. The place looked closed and there was a huge dumpster in the parking lot. I guess it was finally condemned or shut down by the Health Department?

Can anyone tell me if this place is still open? I'm dying to check it out and try the steak, ice cold beer, Asian fusion dishes, and all those food challenges. I'd also like to measure the distance to the sewage treatment plant since there seems to be some disagreement there.
