I have been there twice now, and I am impressed.
Our group sampled the chicken, salads and the pulled pork sandwiches. WOW! I loved the tenderness of the meat and the zesty sauce. Just get plenty of napkins. We had some icy cold beer and really enjoyed ourselves.

As you can see there are not many people that made a comment about Cattlemans but i will make sure that if you are looking for a place to eat DONT GO TO CATTLEMANS. My family has gone there three times and the service was really bad. the dinners came out first before the appetizers and salads. WHEN YOU GOT YOUR DINNER BE SURE THAT IT WAS THE WRONG ORDER. THE MANAGER DID NOTHING FOR US EVEN WHEN WE TOLD HIM THAT WE CAME BACK A THIRD TIME AND WE SHOULD HAVE LEARNED THE FIRST TIME. SO EVERYONE ON A SCALE FROM 1 TO 10 THIS PLACE IS A BIG FAT ZERO FOR SERVICE AND FOOD. STICK TO YOUR OLD STEAKHOUSE

Disappointing experience. Ordered 12oz Filet Mignon and rec'd two 6 oz. rib eye. Salad was skimpy, sweet potatoe side dish was small and not edible. Asked for some bread while waiting 40 minutes for the meal and the waiter said the chef would yell at him if he made the request. I talked to the manager thinking he would welcome feedback to address the shortcomings..... He indicated that this is the way Cattlemans Steakhouse does business. So much for Cattlemans Steakhouse.

I have eaten at Cattleman's a few times now, including mid-week & weekends. The food is always great, with good portions. The only negative is service is on the slow side. Not horrible, but just a bit slow. I always have to ask for soda. I think they will only get better, they are still a new reteraunt.

I have gone to steakhouses on a weekly bases for the past 25 years but Iíve never had a porter house steak cooked the way it was cooked to perfection at the CATTLEMENS steakhouse, the service was excellent and my cream of spinach was out of this world my French fries were hot and crispy and I had four bottles of the most coldís beer Iíve ever had, my wife had the filet Mignon and lobster tail and was tender and juicy, we both have a great experience and we will keep on going to the CATTLEMENS steakhouse, Lindenhurst needed the steakhouse of this proportion.

I am not sure where these other people have eaten in the past that makes this place rate so highly - but it wasn't good.
I was just there on Tuesday and I knew we were going to a casual steakhouse and not a more formal one like Rothmans, BUT that should not mean that I should expect the kind of food that we received.
We ordered "rattlesnake bites" they turned out to be shrimp fritters that were more filling/stuffing than shrimp. They were somewhat tasteless.
I ordered baby back ribs, sweet potato fries and steamed broccoli. My broccoli was way overcooked and mushy, which would have been forgivable if everything else wasn't so inedible. The sweet potato fries were soft and soggy and somewhat greasy. The baby back ribs were fatty - inexcusable. Baby back ribs should never be fatty. On a positive note, the cornbread that was on the table was pretty good - I ate it all.
My husband ordered the surf and turf with french fries and creamed spinach. The surf and turf consisted of a small lobster tail and 6oz filet mignon. The lobster was rubbery and seemly reheated - there were about 4 bites of edible meat. The steak was ordered medium but was brought out well done. The "house seasoned steak" was nothing special, getting around the fact that it was over cooked. The creamed spinach tasted like frozen stuff from the supermarket and not the good homemade kind. The french fries were awesome.
Needless to say we sure didn't order dessert.

my husband treated me to cattlemen's steakhouse for dinner on mother's day. the ribs were fantastic - a definite ace! i've eaten ribs throughout the south at various BBQ spots and these hold their own against the best of them. i read the other posts and disagree about the rattlesnake bites and broccoli. i had both and thought they were very good. the broccoli was fresh and very flavorful. it was steamed just right, crisp and not soggy at all. my husband had a house marinated t-bone that was tender, juicy and flavorful, too. given it was mother's day, the waitstaff had their hands full but were friendly, courteous, and responsive. i look forward to eating there again.

This restaurant would stand a chance if not for the TERRIBLE wait staff our waitress was so bad we thought she was drunk it took 45 minutes just to get drinks we actually had our food thrown down on the table in front of us we could never find our waitress she kept dissapearing for ridiculous periods of time when we did finally find her she was very rude and kept giving us dirty looks when we first arrived we found the hostess to be very combative as she was seating her friends and family before us even though we were there first when we confronted her about this she laughed in our faces and starting making jokes about us to her fellow employees and continued to snicker at us the whole time we where there I will never go back my family does not to be treated this way

Four of us went there this weekend for the worst dining experience any of us ever had. From the "dead behind the eyes" bimbos taking/not taking reservations (depending on who you spoke to when you called); the same bimbos in cowboy hats who couldn't figure out how to seat anyone; the nastiest brute of a waitress Toni who probably was a former discus champion the way she slammed and threw the plates of food on the table; the thirty minute wait for soda refills; the other waitress who stared at me and walked away after I asked her to get Toni for us; the busyboy who literally did thirty straight laps around the dining area trying to look busy but never actually doing anything; the fact that all four of our entrees were cooked wrong; the resultant 40 minute wait to get the entrees re-ordered (we finally told Toni to cancel the order to which we received a nasty comment) and the overall disdain and ineptitude showed why Cattlemens is easily the worst "restaurant" (if you could call it that) on Long Island.
An absolute embarrassment and disgrace!!!

Guess you either must consider Denny's haute cuisine or be one of the owners of this slophouse.("Not too transparent are you-"WOW!") Absolutely the worst experience ever! I should have listened to the six people I know who warned me against trying this disaster. The only good news is when it will close, and based on what people are saying, will probably be soon. WOW!

It a shame to see these people had a bad experince. i would definitely give this place a shot. i was in the business in my twenties and could see they are going through some growing pains. i had the twelve ounce filet and it was excellent. Cream spinach to die for and fries crispy. my wife had the ribs that fell off the bone. give the bannana nut bread pudding a try DELICIOUS. WE WILL BE BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN
