I will say one thing though. All of you volunteers on the PTA need to relax. You need to stop nit picking. We have enough to deal with as a school district with all of the stupid crap these BOE and administration dish out. A lot of their hair brained ideas make no sense for a financially struggling district, and as we debate over crumbs on the floor with each other, these nitwits are ignoring the voice of the people and deliberately keeping the IB program. Your children will lose their activities, even the WISE program, which services a much larger student body, because these nitwits can't stop for a second and think of anyone else but themselves and their illustrious IB programme, which picks our pockets and sends our money to Geneva Switzerland, so that "everyone with their differences can be right".
Can we send a couple of these BOE and administrators with a one way ticket to Switzerland, please?

People in this town only do that. They trash peoples character because they don't like them. No proof of wrong doing - they do it to several people in this town. They won't do it to their face because there is NO validity to their accusations!! So surprised.
I was at the board of education meeting. Wendy asked the bd of ed members why only the preschool didn't have to pay security when the other tenants had to pay security for their spaces. She also asked Ms LaRosa the reason why she didn't vote on the preschool lease. If that's not asking questions to their face then I don't know what is. Can anyone explain?

What do you think about the answers Wendy got? How about the "body language" too? Very good questions, worthy of honest answers, but what happened?

I noticed the very first post does not mention any school or person. So why did the supporters of one particular school immediately assume it was them and their PTA? Those same supposed supporters are also the ones who started naming names, not the original post. For some reason they assumed the post was about their school/ friend/ relative. Even if it was, 99% of the people reading this thread wouldn't have known who it was about or which school. By naming names they brought attention where it didn't need to be brought. It seems that mentioning the name of someone or something who was not named at all, and who may or may not be the subject of the post is a very odd way of defending someone.

Post #2 says Oquenock PTA VP. Go read it. very deliberate. This has been going on for a few weeks then someone decided to post on Topix which is very typical for this specific group of ladies. 99.9 of the people from the other school are good people from my exp. Its about a half dozen people if that many that cause a problem. Emails being sent attacking people, anonymous emails criticizing parents. Can't wait for the year to be over.

Why are we wasting 35k a yr on IB? We should be patterning our school district after towns like Lindenhurst and Brentwood. You don't see either one of those school districts having an IB program. We are not RVC, Cold Spring Harbor,Jericho, or Any of the other top districts and we need to stop trying to be. We should get rid of all dance, sports and after school activities. Basic education was hoot enough for me and it's good enough for your kids

You're a liar, IB is far more costly than you claim. You gosh darn cry baby, "oh boo hoo....I've been trying to effect change with the state mandates since I got here...boo hoo" Look where other schools are heading, into insolvency, bankruptcy, boo hoo...and here we cry in front of our community how rough we have it, making decisions about what to cut because these unfunded mandates are killing us. Cry me a river. We have an outstanding AP program, you friggen tard.
We've had scores of AP honors grads go on to college and Universities but so far we haven't had one IB diploma graduate. So much for your BS, taking pot shots at other school districts like a scum bag would.
All you have to do is take our school district into consideration with the truth, with the facts, but you can't because the facts speak for themselves, so as usual you lie, compare our district (with a thriving AP program) to other districts you feel are inferior. Go there and clean them up with all your expertise but leave West Islip alone. The IB program counts seats, and not heads. Why is that? They try to make it look like all these kids are signing up for IB, a stupid UN FUNDED program, not even a mandate. They count one kid who takes 6 course in IB as six people to jack up the numbers. Lame! You people want your kids tests graded all over the world? You want your kids lives devoted to the "rigors" of IB, spinning their wheels on a programme that isn't viewed by colleges and universities as anything equal to AP, another lie. We have no money, we are cash strapped, your unfunded mandates complaint, with all your tears, and sobs, and sighs, when you refuse to get rid of the IB program, which you numb and clueless demons know you are trying to push into the middle schools too...yeah just keep the strangle hold on the tax payers of this town, so you can have your ego's stroked in all your big fat educational seminars. West Islip doesn't need IB, this school district, not because of any of you lame brains, but because of teachers with heart, with talent, with honor, work their asses off to turn out OUTSTANDING WEST ISLIP STUDENTS. Try comparing West Islip students to any neighboring school, try comparing our teachers, to any neighboring school districts, you can't. Our teachers are hard, have high expectations, actually teach, give homework, projects, and show up for extra help, they raise the bar, they are not known for lowering the bar. I know this because my children have excelled with the best of the best in this district and not because of our BOE or admin., it has always been only about the teachers and the principals and support staff. Do not dare discredit our district as though it's only worth, it's only hope, it's only value comes from your foreign and expensive IB programme, you are so full of it! What an insult!

She didn't get an answer to her question about the preschool being the only tenant not paying a security deposit. I'm not a body language reader, but the boe looked at each other and Mr. Gellar said the word "uh" about 4 times before he said he'd get back to her. I guess you can read into it or not. It seemed weird to me that he didn't know the answer to the question though. Ms. LaRosa's answer was that she was friends with both people and did business with both people. Until then I only thought her connection to Ms. Winkler was they once were on the board of directors of P.A.W.S.together, but she named other groups they belong to and didn't mention P.A.W.S. I thought it was odd that she would leave out the West Islip group.

Exactly! BINGO! These people usually have an answer for everything, don't they? They usually feel entitled to flip off like wise guys too when they are being pushed on any given subject matter. They have even demanded clarification of one of their own trustees as well, while receiving a report, for the sake of a district employee. I mean, we've all seen them in action and NEVER being at a loss for words. That's so laughable,'I'll get back to ya on that'. So the only answer when all is said and done, is that if it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck and looks like a duck, it's a duck. It's not that complicated, in fact, it's too easy.

Mean while these jerks think our School district needs allmof these unnecessary programs. We don't need IP, we don't need sports,we don't need dance and other activities. We need a basic education that doesn't bankrupt our community. We are not one of those white collar top school districts and we don't need anything butbthe basics!!! Wake up all you morons. We need to start patterning ourselves after less affluent districts, it's the only way to go.

Mean while? It's meanwhile you dumbass! Maybe IB didn't teach you that, even though it's in all the "affluent" districts..hahahhaha!
Remember...you're supposed to respect me...even if you disagree with me...because after all, your IB mantra states...EVERYONE WITH THEIR DIFFERENCES CAN BE RIGHT. Now go back to carrying your water, and put your shirts on while you're at it, because while your wimpy chested weakling image suits your whole MO, it's gross and a huge vomit producer, YUK!

This is the real Pam. You know I want to get rid of IB, it's a 35 thousand dollar WASTE!. We cannot afford the "wants" when we have so many "needs". Sports,Dance,Band, and IP are all programs that the morons on the BOE think we have to have. I repeat we are not a top school district and we should stop trying to make believe we are. Our kids deserve a basic education and that's what we should be stoving for. I'm not paying so that record high taxes so that little Susie can learn to dance and little Johnny can make believe he's a football player. Screw IB we didn't have it when I was young and we don't need it now.We are not a white collar town, let the rich people have their IB and Lacrosse programs, they are used by such a small minority of our students anyway. You stupidbwater carrying jerks need to wise up. Let's take care of the basics not all of these BS dance, music, art, language and sports programs.

How do you know who the emails came from if they are anonymous? Why do you automatically think anonymous emails are from .1% of people (who I assume you don't like) from the "other school"?
It's the end of April and you're still referring to parents as being from the "other school"? That statement might speak to part of the problem if you're still labeling parents as belonging to your school or not. I have always maintained that if a person can't bring themself to sign their name to something (criticism, complaint or other) then the person or entity reading the "anonymous" information should totally disregard it, for it has no validity.
