Xtreme Gym Bellmore / Merrick Review

Too many machines. If i was a senior or in rehab I would appreciate them but I want a maximum effecency workout. No standing or donkey calf machines in either facility. No seated calf machine in Merrick. No T-bar in Merrick. Poor ventilation in both places (On purpose to buy their overpriced drinks? Likely). No ab incline benches in Merrick. Merrick lacks almost all types of various bars for free weights. Bellmore has them though. Many girls at front dont even acknowledge you when you walk in. They just continue to stare at their facebook pages on the computer.

I worked out in the free weight area and when I checked the thermostat on the wall, it read 86 degrees and it felt it. I also noticed that there are no central air vents in that room which is ridiculous. It would not take much to tap into current system and add one or two vents for that room. I also noticed that the windows don't open which is why it was so stuffy in the place. installing a couple of awning style windows for ventilation in the spring and fall would be a good idea.

Yeah well the hotter it is the more likly you are to buy one of their overpriced drinks, no?(As well as delaying a month to even connect the water fountain). Trying to make a few extra bucks but it becomes unbearable during peak times in there.

The girls who work at the front desk are obnoxious. The comment about the girls on facebook all the time was right- I went to ask a question a few days ago and was give the 1 second finger. She then preceded to tell me that she just broke into the guy she was seeing facebook account-
It's always so hot in there- they need to fix that.

The staff in the Merrick location is the rudest you will ever meet. They make up policies whenever they feel like it. Most recently two friends of mine printed out the guest pass to use for a free trial week. When they arrived they were told they could get the passes that day but could not use them until the next day. This is not the case in any other Xtreme Gym location. They were also told since their address was not Bellmore or Merrick they were not eligible to get a pass. This is absolutely ridiculous since they live in Wantagh 8 minutes from the gym.

I think "You guys are Pathetic" is the stupid owner of this place. I was in the Bellmore gym 2 weeks overhearing the owner talking about how many members he has and laughing that only 10 percent of them actually come in. This is the most unfriendliest gym I have ever been apart of... The whole staff is so negative and non personal... There like Robots...

Went there few days. Very unfriendly and limited staff. Don't even acknowledge or smile when you walk in and out. This is probably as much the owner as it is the suburb kids not knowing what it is to truly work for a living. I may just join in manhattan where there is more professionalism and a friendlier class of people. and yes, I have lived in long island for 20 years and am hardly a manhattan snob. Very disappointing as there arent any good gyms in the verity which is why such poor service is tolerated.

Neil should sell to someone who cares about their customers. We've been complaining for yrs ... all legitimate complaints ... you have decent members, TREAT THEM RIGHT!!!! He simply does not care.

I've worked in food service industry for about 7 years while I was growing up in the Bellmore/Merrick area, and there is no making you "cry babies" happy. You will always find something to complain about. If its not 1 thing its another. You know what I do, and most of the other people in this world does? After going to an establishment and I find that it does not meet my needs... I DONT GO BACK!!! Thats the reason all gyms (including Xtreme) give you a free week pass to try it out.

The only one you can blame here are yourselves...

[Worst Gym Ever]

This gym is absolutely the worst. 50% of the machines are broken and it takes weeks for them to tighten a screw. I am so glad my membership is up. The girls at the counter have no professionalism at all. They are rude and spend more time adjusting their tights to show off their ass. That part I actually like...
