There used to be a young guy named Gus in Ridgewood Queens who had a cart in front of the Ridgewood Savings Bank on the corner of Myrtle Ave and Forest Ave...not sure if he is still there, but even in 10 degree weather he was there and so was a line of people waiting...the small sabrett dogs were the best....Does anyone know what happened to him?

Yeah, usually I read the news, or watch the news, and try to filter what I am getting. This just proves the point. To not have Charlies with their onion relish, Yoo-hoo hot dog hero ways on this list is a tragedy. The only thing sadder is an empty white box, with some scattered relish here and there. Sniff

There's a truck on Sunrise Hwy in Massapequa in between the Massapequa and Massapequa Park train station on the Westbound side of Sunrise- Outstanding service, great hotdogs and the fixins are cooked to perfection with just the right kick of flavor- There's another guy who parks in Wantagh on the corner of Merrick Road on Wantagh Avenue right by Carvel and Dairy Barn- Another guy who's worth visiting- Good good stuff, great great prices-

AHHH, Charlies at the Spur. Bakery box full of dogs for home. He died, the family took over, and then the real estate valued them out. They never disappointed you.

I grew up on your Aunt and Uncle's hot dogs! What's this about real estate pushing them out...are they still there? Is it possible to get their relish shipped out to AZ? Good grief, man! Answer me!!!

It's all over for them. They went through a big hassle with Islip Town over renewing Charlie's "Veteran" Permit. They got it with clause" family only,no sale of business." But all things come to an end. They're gone...

I used to love Charlie's as I kid. But in their last couple of years before they shut down, they went down hill. One of the girls there was also sneezing, her hair was all over the place, she was nasty to everybody (if you're family you know who I'm talking about). The buns were mushy and they just didn't seem to care about the family reputation anymore. I found much better places on LI after I stopped going to Charlies. I guess all good things come to an end.

ehh these places are usually so dirty and hot dogs are crap food. But so many people eat McDonald's and other junk i guess it doesn't bother everyone.
