Hey, if you prefer the elite having access to not only fireworks, but guns as well (while law abiding citizens are stuck between thugs with illegal guns, and cops who use their legal guns on unarmed people...) then stay in NYC. (Even though I hope citizens test the new Supreme Nine guarantee of the right to bear arms...)

Meant to be humorous or humor-less?
I think you are probably serious you and firewords and guns.
Fireworks (not sparklers) in the wrong stupid and perhaps drunk hands-burn people. Guns in the wrong stupid and perhaps criminal (and maybe drunk) hands-kill people. Do I think guns should be outlawed NO. Do I think fireworks from anyone other than professionals should be illegal-YES!
The fourth of July has NO meaning to these morons - just an excuse to act like A $$es. They start in June and continue through July-does that sound like LET'S CELEBRATE AMERICA to you.

More people are hurt/killed because of drugs. They made these six arrests in a day or two and they canít do that with illegal drug suppliers.
See why people are pissed at the efforts?
I'de rather see fireworks being sold on the corner than drugs.
And the big shot doctors do it and get not a day jail for it. Send me back to mexico gringo!

And, how did the 4th of July become a 2-3 week holiday, or should I say, just an excuse for white trash to make things go BOOM? I have to buy a month's supply of Acepromizine for my dogs in July, otherwise, every night in July, they just sit and shake and cry, while morons set off these fireworks 2 doors down from me.
Hey gringo, you need to find right docter to help you like dis one.

So many years ago me and a friend used to rent a cargo van, take it to Maryland, load it up with fireworks, drive back to NY, sell em to friends, and we would have enough left over to put on a huge show for the whole neighborhood on the 4th. All the neighbors would come outside, we'd give sparklers to the kids, and everyone had a great time. There were probably 100's of people. NO ONE WAS EVER HURT AND NOTHING WAS EVER DAMAGED. We would even do a quick clean up after (It got really messy) and then clean everything in the morning. No one ever called the cops - everyone was too busy enjoying themselves

NYC fireworks law is one I break annually. It's not complicated, if the elite can use fireworks (but afford to pay for permits and the requisite costs), then it is unfair to keep same from the poor/working class, in my opinion.

Illegal fireworks...a very dangerous serious problem last night in Freeport...heavy duty explosives being detonated on many streets near my home in Freeport, also right over my house. I was unable to drive on many streets to get home to my house from Bellmore to Freeport because of people in the middle of the streets lighting fireworks...
I did not see one police vehicle anywhere as I drove home from Bellmore to Freeport.

Total retards thinking they can celebrate there freedom in America with fireworks.

You live in a police state retards, How did you like the handcuffs an the cage "for your safety".

What do you think you live in one of those countries with freedom ?

America "land of the free" what a sick joke that's become.

I am going to but lots of fireworks on my ride home from our Florida Vaca next week !

Ya , the real expensive good ones ! and sell them to my friends who love America.

Those who would trade in their freedom for their "safety" deserve neither. Those who give up their liberty for more security neither deserve liberty nor security.

You won't see any. All the talk of "celebrating our Country's birth" is a bunch of bs. Like someone else said, this starts in May and continues to September in my neighborhood. And we aren't talking firecrackers or even roman candles. We're talking high grade, professional use explosives. Day and night, with the police no where to be found. Lot's of "patriotism" to be found on here, until it's your kid hurt, or your property damaged. Plenty of professional shows to enjoy. And the rest, well, keep proving Darwin right.

John Adams stated that the Declaration should be celebrated annually with as much fanfare, by shooting cannons, guns, music, dancing, bon fires and more.....if only he knew that such celebrating in NYS, and NYC, is reserved only for the elite few.
As you can see I am in Florida and on Vacation.

I will be bringing back lots of fireworks this week just to annoy the freedom hating people of longisland that also hate when other people are having fun.

I will give them away to my freedom loving friends as well.

I will risk arrest by the freedom haters to celebrate what America is supposed to stand for.

I personally don't mind fireworks/crackers but I don't enjoy them either. They are a little boring, like looking at a kalidoscope. Nice for about 5 minutes. My dog is upset by the loudness though, he shakes for hours after the loud booms. I am thinking of getting him some drugs to help with his serious stress. He is a german shephard. and I think it hurts his ears. I would like to see a compromise, fireworks for a week leading up to July 4th and then stop. One week to celebrate. After all dogs are man's best friend and no dogs like fireworks.
