West Islip BOE meeting video taped

People complain about the lack of transparency with the BOE. Community members have demonstrated time and time again the lack of honesty with the BOE.
When someone in the community actual does something to bring about transparency, he becomes the target.
It is lawful to video tape in a open public meeting. People have the gall to expect that the law should protect them from the use of their own words when they fully realize that their comments and remarks are being made in a public forum.
I hope this man continues his video recording, but I also hope that he uses a bit more sophisticated equipt, considering how poor the visibility of his raw video taping was, also the volume was poor too.
As the old saying goes, Be damned if you do it, but be damned if you don't!

Actually ony a handful of people complain about transparency with the BOE as demonstrated by the BOE vote.
I dont have a problem with the meetings being taped but I do have a problem with it being done secretly from the back row. I also think if you are going to tape the meeting than tape the meeting in its entirety so that those who wish to watch get a true representation and not the personal preference of the taper. Stand up front so everyone knows they are being taped.
If it is the BOE you are trying to "catch" doing something wrong than tape from behind the podium toward the BOE.

The only thing we all caught from both meetings is how sweet and kind Larossa is when she knows a camera's recording her. Far cry from the way she acts toward the little people of wi when there's no camera. She's a puton phony and her puton phony laugh is like nails down a chalkboard.

The BOE vote is a joke.
It's a job to find anyone knowledgeable in what is going on in the world of politics and foreign affairs, and how it affects their very life, let alone find anyone knowledgeable in the world of school district government and policy.
That's why it's the same 10 people all the time attending these BOE meetings.
The Lame stream talking heads, aka fake media, local media, or better known as the enemedia, are always ready to serve up the mantra that these government agents want the public to know.
Finally, when someone decides to take it upon his or herself to get some transparency, foolish people come out of the woodwork calling it sneaky.
I find it refreshing, I find it the exact remedy for problems that have been rooted in deception here in this district for literally decades.
The open meetings laws protect the video taper from any recourse. If anyone goes to an open meeting they should expect that they will not be provided protection from their own words or actions.
Not every matter a tax payer raises needs to be aired at an open school board meeting. Actually, the Super has open hours where he can address issues too sensitive to bring before the BOE and the public.

Glenn montes had every right to tape the boe meeting... I think everyone agrees with that. However, hiding in the back row and doing it not once but twice is a little asinine. These are open public meetings! Everyone can attend! What are you trying to prove? Another thing... He taped septembers meeting secretly fom the back row, and then posted it under a false name both on patch and to u tube, trying to drive people to his dumb ass website. Why if he wasn't a coward didn't he own up to making the original video? He only came out of the closet in October, after the board announced it would try recording the meetings themselves. He wanted the credit for the idea, and so got caught in his own sneaky, snaky deception. I don't think you can assume anyone new his camera was rolling in September, so to state anyone was anything then what they normally are is a bit of a stretch.

Yeah, but thank god the camera was rolling during september's meeting right? they were caught with their pants down lying again and this time someone had the balls to tape it. i don't care who did it or where they were i'm glad everybody can see the boe lying and trying to cover their tracks.
#7 Oct 23, 2012
what were they lying about?

Let's face it, it's legal. YOU should know that when you attend an open meeting, you are part of the process. It's your job to inform yourself about the open meeting laws, ignorance is no excuse. So yes it's safe to assume that people know that they can be video taped.
Over the past many years, News 12 has showed up, most people attending didn't know they were going to be there, the patch too. So in reality this stink you are making (and some others too) is just because someone you don't care for has done something you are using as an opportunity to cry about.
There is so much to cry about going on around this district, FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS!
This idea of Montes being a COWARD when he was in plain sight, right there for anyone to sit next to, to speak to, to discover what he was doing, is just nonesense.
Sneaky, Snaky, deception, are words you use because you want to be derisive because you must have a axe to grind with the man.
He isn't and didn't video tape for your purposes, clearly, he video taped for the purpose of an alternative to sitting there at the BOE meeting.
I enjoyed being able to view it when I could, any time I felt like it. The quality was poor, so it was very hard to hear or even see what was going on.
My only hope is that he gets more sophisticated equipt. so we can all have a better accounting of what is actually taking place rather than straining to hear and see. Otherwise, he did well!

He is a loser and an ass, the butt of jokes all over town. What a moron. GO TO THE MEETINGS IF YOU WANT TO BE INVOLVED!!
#10 Oct 23, 2012
How adult of you. Do you really care about what a few simpletons in this town think? I've gone to my share of BOE meetings. Sitting there doesn't mean that one is "INVOLVED".
You see, I'm past the place that you are at. A place where you actually give any credence to a bunch of clueless and sophmoric empty heads.
You summed it up for me. My take away concerning someone like you, you need approval. You can't think autonomously from your fellow herd members. You're too concerned if you are likeable.
It's because of people like you, who care more about being PC and tolerant, that our entire district is falling apart. Rather than point to those issues, keep the focus on those who have taken us down this path, you prefer instead to distract, by pointing at a man doing something completely within his rights to do.
#11 Oct 23, 2012
No..."aware" I never said it was not his "right" to do. I said he was a moron and a loser, which is why he lost the election to gellar in a LANDSLIDE, and why people think he is an idiot. If he wants to actually DO something, then he should stop hiding behind his computer, his camera, and the skirts of the good women who actually have the balls to stand up and question the board about current issues, and say something himself.
#12 Oct 23, 2012
The bottom line is this: Why do you care so much?
You cite what other people think. How about just stick to your own thoughts and not use "others" to make it look as though you stand with this huge majority. Two schools are closed, look around you, the elementary schools are overcrowded.
Montes has been effective "hiding behind his computer and his camera" which is why you need to vilify him. I think he's got some people worried.
What are you so afraid of?
You sound so frustrated by what he is doing, relax, if you and your cohorts aren't doing anything wrong, you got nuttin to worry about.
#13 Oct 23, 2012
Ok, when's the last time you saw me in a skirt?---seriously.
#14 Oct 23, 2012
All kidding aside, maybe if we all (myself included)stop talking on behalf of "everyone" else and only speak for ourselves we might just see that there are valid points to all sides of this issue. However, any validity seems to get lost when it's accompanied by name-calling and personal insults. On a totally different note, did anyone take note of the home crowd's reaction when the BOE was introduced at homecoming?
#15 Oct 23, 2012
HA HA HA HA. Why do you care so much? Why do you get to come on here and express an opinion in favor of the jackass, and i cant express my opinion calling him one? Im not citing what other people think, im citing what i think, and what i have heard others saying, also reading how he was completely ripped apart on patch by the community. face it, he is a laughing stock. Effective? in what way? what has he effected? nothing! I can care less about what he is doing, its stupid, and makes him look like a bigger jackass then he was last year when he lost the election. Crowded? really? 21 and 22 kids in a class is crowded?
#16 Oct 23, 2012
You absolutely did cite what other people think, you said that "people think he's an idiot".
I know, I know, lying is a typical by-product used by some when they've been caught. I speak for myself, you on the other hand have spoken for more than just yourself. Express whatever you want.
Just be sure that when you drag "others" into your comment, you appear weak, as though you need to sell your opinion by inserting what others think.
No,it's clear that you do care what he is doing. He has effectively created a dialogue and it's apparent that you are stirred and moved to jump in.
Yes, crowded. The schools are bulging, the parking lots are bulging, the lunch times are assinine, the teacher to student ratio is archaic, but give Mr. Simon and others a raise for this marvelous job they have done.
As long as Mr. Montes is willing to continue to do what he has, hopefully with a bit more sophisticated equipt. those of the community will have a second and third shot, whenever they choose, to go back to the tape! You gotta love it!
Good on Mr. Montes...as I said, you got nuttin to worry about if your cohorts are doing the right thing.
#17 Oct 23, 2012
I think benny's comment was a reference to Bag pipers! lol, Maybe woman in his family have facial hair and body hair and so he gets confused.
#18 Oct 23, 2012
So it's ok for you to name call and make fun of people right? It's the same fight/nonsense from last spring, blah blah blah blah blah. Get a life, get out and make it better if your so unhappy, oh wait you tried that, and failed when your candidate LOST. Let th tape roll, who cares? It's meaningless,
#19 Oct 23, 2012
Hey, hey, now...let's stop the lying around here. I never set that standard. Why do you have to lie? As far as I am concerned, make fun all you want, name call all you want.
I told benny to speak for himself. If you can comprehend, I wrote that he was trying to represent what all these "other people" think of Mr. Montes.
When someone has to inject into the dialogue what "other people" think, they prove what a weak debater they are.
#20 Oct 23, 2012
Bravo, bravo. Well said.
I too feel that when anyone says "everybody thinks so", "the whole town thinks" they so completely lack confidence in themselves and their own opinion that need to validate themselves by grouping "everybody" in with their opinion. The constant name calling and insults to anyone with a difference of opinion only adds further proof of one's feeling of inferiority.
