Lowering the speed limit signs does not affect how fast drivers will go. Very few drivers seem to pay attention to the speed limit signs. I've seen no change in peoples driving habits since the new signs have been put up. There must be stop signs put in place or maybe even a traffic signal since there is no traffic signs from Higbie lane to sunrise highway. There should also be a 25 mph school speed sign with flashing yellow lights and your speed displayed put in place since there is the Oqenock elementary school down the street just off the main road. School buses must have a hard time pulling onto Udall road since nobody slows down probably due to not knowing that there is a school just off Udall rd.

The lower speed limit hasn't made any difference in how fast people race down Udall Rd. It's a shame is how much time SC police cars two sometimes three abreast spend in the parking lot of Westminster Church on Udall Rd. West Islip has changed so quickly and not for the better I'm sorry to say.
