There was no crime determined as of yet, that's not to say that no crime was committed, i.e., abduction, murder, etc. If he is reported missing, LE is obligated to investigate. But what you're saying, but no crime has been found, they shouldn't be looking for RM? That's to me absurd. There are countless people who have disappeared without a trace only to have found a been murdered years later. This really isn't rocket science. No there's no manual ,but it stands to reason that if you go public after law enf has said no crime, that a lot of personal, private stuff will get out to the public as well And again I ask average guy, if as you insist , he didn't leave her and there's no. Crime, what else is left??? If he was a suicide by now someone wouldve found him and that doesn't appear to be what Tom and family think,or the wife according to what has been posted. My neighbors husband took off., left wife and 3 kids no contact for past 8mo but she didn't go public so no one but police know her business And sure all neighbors are curious , human nature, but no one questions her like Ida, because she kept it PRIVATE
In your other scenario, you said that you neighbors husband took off. So the wife 'knew' and didn't report it. And why would she go public about it if the dad was a deadbeat?
