No there's no manual ,but it stands to reason that if you go public after law enf has said no crime, that a lot of personal, private stuff will get out to the public as well And again I ask average guy, if as you insist , he didn't leave her and there's no. Crime, what else is left??? If he was a suicide by now someone wouldve found him and that doesn't appear to be what Tom and family think,or the wife according to what has been posted. My neighbors husband took off., left wife and 3 kids no contact for past 8mo but she didn't go public so no one but police know her business And sure all neighbors are curious , human nature, but no one questions her like Ida, because she kept it PRIVATE
There was no crime determined as of yet, that's not to say that no crime was committed, i.e., abduction, murder, etc. If he is reported missing, LE is obligated to investigate. But what you're saying, but no crime has been found, they shouldn't be looking for RM? That's to me absurd. There are countless people who have disappeared without a trace only to have found a been murdered years later. This really isn't rocket science.

In your other scenario, you said that you neighbors husband took off. So the wife 'knew' and didn't report it. And why would she go public about it if the dad was a deadbeat?

I read here but rarely if ever comment, don't have time for the arguements back & forth. Just want to say something to Average Guy who I think is a disrespectful little prick. If you ever come to NY I wanna meet you so I can show you how it is you speak to women. Your nothing but a big mouth all the way in CA. Please come to NY & I'll try to toughen you up the real way jerkoff.
LOL Hi Brian from Commack. You don't know how I 'Treat Women'. I do know how others - men and women - are publicly abusing a defenseless victim through gossip and accusations. How do you feel about that, tough guy?

Where'd you hear that he told her not to be home? And you state that like it's a fact when, in fact, you pulled it out of your ass.
Ask Ida!
Obviously she is not very sincere with her "minions".
Ask here why was she (and kids) not at home at that time.
Ask her how comes she arrived just few min after he left.

May I ask where you got this information from that Rob asked his wife to not be home at the time he would be there? And how do you know they has cameras at the time this occurred?
I got this picture from an interview Ida gave to media, and it is obvious there are plethora of cameras surrounding HER house.
I am not sure if they were switched off that day, but if yes, than it was because Rob asked her not to be home when he arrives.

Her kids were at school.
She was visiting her parents down the street.
She came home more than just a few minutes after he left.

Any more brilliant observations?

Average guy. I said the neighbors husband was gone just like Robert Mayer minus the 300dol in the garage. She still doesn't know where or what just like the other family from Dix hills. Those were both reported to the police and the fact seems to be that unless they have something to base it on, an adult can leave , disappear if they want to. There are matters of child support and unpaid bills that have be dealt with. But the police aren't going to investigate the location of a husband who ditched his family. Every family has private matters and this woman more than most ie her past so why would she go public if she didn't want her dirty laundry out there for all to see. I have always leaned toward her protesting too much., we were happy , things were so good, we booked Italy today. Sounds like covering up , like there's something to hide to me. And from experience, you would have to be an idiot to book an international trip with your kids with a man who is abusing drugs. Time will tell who did what. Or if they are really clever no one will ever know. Bye bye. I'm starting to find the whole thing rather boring. And if he just took off, then I repeat except for his family, who cares where Robert Mayer is!!

No, this is not secular to women or a time. Never mind, consider me flipping the bird and telling you to suck on it. Please continue to talk out of your ass, it is pretty comical. Your comments and 'theories' are baseless and not validated. Got to love the peanut crowd. Did someone say "Nuts"?
AGAIN,"Speak to the hand" was a 90's catch phrase, used by little girls ....BUT, I guess they grow them different in Murrieta, You would have never made it growing up in NY....... As for "Sucking on the Bird" I think YOU have Mastered that Technique. I don't know of any "Man" who
post on forums all day long, YOU might want to remove the word "guy" out of your alias OR grow a pair before you proclaim to belong to the male gender!!

I'm spouting anger? When? I don't "yell" on here with caps lock on and way too many exclamation points. No anger here.

One last post from me. Average guy. What I said , I was told that if you call police and report someone, an adult , of age , missing. They will initially look onto it but if they find no indication of a crime at all, they feel an adult has the right to leave his spouse, children , mom etc if they want to. They aren't in the business of helping a wife track down her husband who left. And I got from IDtv and dateline stories that sometimes law enf has suspicions of a spouse or someone else and is real quiet about it til someone slips up and they have enough evidence to make an arrest. Sometimes it takes years. In my opinion it is doubtful that law enf would say publicly no crime if they felt he was abducted or murdered by unknown subjects. When Sarah Goode was missing and her car was found law enf said publicly right away that they felt it was suspicious circumstances. So if Yor wife runs away and disappears and you call police and they find no reason to suspect a crime don't expect them to investigate her whereabouts for you. That's what I said

Sue , so not to be rude,I've asked it before if everyone is convinced there was no criminality and understands that this guy just left his wife and family because he wanted to , why is anyone except the wife and family trying to find him.??? If that is truly what you believe, then who cares where Robert Mayer is
Sam bee, I can only speak for myself but I'm sure that most (not all) of us are just concerned that he is OK. I doubt that anyone is looking to hunt Rob down and drag him back to a place that he doesn't want to be. Whatever his reasons are for leaving is his business but, his family has the right to have peace of mind and know that he is OK. So, with that being said, if i can help by sharing his poster and giving a second look to a stranger that happens to look like him, I will do so. If I should ever happen to come across him, I will pass on the message to call his family, that they are worried about him. I would then quietly contact his family & point them in the right direction. That is all any of us can & should do, if the opportunity should ever arise.

After that I would be done, whatever Rob & his family do is not my business nor do I want it to be!
