Lol! Can tell you I didn't rob people of their futures. The same could be said for anyone!
I'm not on tv crying crocodile tears and claiming to have a " perfect " happy life , lying to people trying to help me. And I could tell you right now , if my husband went missing tomorrow , I could care less what horrible secret you dredge up from my past . Nothing absolutely NOTHING would matter , not my reputation , not what strangers thought of me, NOTHING but getting him home or finding out he is safe .... And if meant my skeletons then so be it!
Easy to say when you have not walked this path. Pray you never do.

People are expending so much energy and effort expressing anger, sadness, frustration, and other things that cannot possibly benefit Rob in any way at all. People on, "both sides", whom I believe are mostly good, caring people, are behaving badly. If Rob is out there some where, or if someone wants to private message someone with a truly useful tip, would either of them feel safe to disclose anything to a group of angry people? No blame. No right or wrong. I am only asking if we might refocus on what best to do to proceed and find Rob.

Why is there so much fear of a FB public page to share the fliers? The details of his disappearance and what was going on the time he disappeared will be a scrubbed list of important details. We are bringing it to the police first to ensure it is 100% complete. The goal is to have people share the info and go from there. We are not interested in drama and useless questions and finger pointing. Before we open it up, we want to be sure we can control it. There are a lot of great people that have their hearts and minds in the right place to help. Unfortunately when you deal with the public there are a lot of negative people who only plan to inpead our efforts for unknown reasons. We stated early on and have always maintained... We think he left. The only question is why and only Rob can answer that.

Fear of an FB public page to share fliers? I don't recall reading about fear of a page. Just asking if it was going to be another Bill Pecker/Decker page.

Talk about being hypocritical. SMH Would love to see this list 'Of things that were happening' that isn't already known. Still waiting for that FB page.

When helping the missing one's focus must be on the person who is missing. That is the only team that matters. When one identifies as "on a team" they have lost essential perspective and are no longer able to be objective when evaluating new information or changes in the case status. It is like putting on a pair of glasses that distort your sight and then reading the clues. While supporting the love ones is nice and I am sure appreciated; for me, the focus is on and will always be the person who is missing. In my opinion when a love one is blurring the lines between getting people to help to find there missing family member and grooming a group of volunteers to become a source of friendship, blind supporters and confidents a red flag should go up. This relationship is no longer a healthy helpful one of volunteer helping the plight of a missing person; but, a volunteer becoming emotionally entangled where they don't belong. Rob needs all the help he can get. Tom and Christine should not have to justify, explain or even comment on their search efforts. As those who object to them do so IMO, because you are viewing them through those distorted glasses. I encourage all of you who really want to help Rob, to reexamine your relationshipss with any of the family members and make sure you are where you need to be in order to forumulate healthy opnions and be constructive in your efforts to help find Rob Mayer.

I have asked this before It seems that robs family is convinced that he left on his own and if that's the case has done good job of staying hidden for a whole year. It seems that the police don't think there was a crime. So, if that's the case. Why is it anyone else's business to uncover his whereabouts or his reasons other than his wife and immediate family. She has a reason to find him ,chid support being major. They can get a private detective to locate him. But how is it any of our business if he wanted to leave his family for whatever the reaon

And what IF that is not the case?
What IF he was killed?
What IF Ida knows the whole truth, but is lying once again, as she just did several times in her past?
Would you be charged for covering up, or for obstructing the justice?
Don't you realize that there are way too many unanswered IFs?!!!

Because no one knows for sure. Because Ida said he would never leave them. Because people have invested their time and hearts in this matter. Because everyone wants a solid, real answer.

I had originally thought that his wife had him done away with but now reading Toms posts it seems that his brother knows a lot more than the public and the fact that law enforcement doesn't seem to be
Pursuing his being missing as if there is no crime is making me think Tom is right and that he left on his own. It will be interesting to hear what else Tom says about what was going on before he disappeared. But if they find out for a fact that he did go on his own fir his own reasons, then I think it's time for us to mind our business and look at cases where it seems a crime was committed

Sassilee, I'm not trying to be rude or difficult, but people, myself included. Get caught up following these things and the time invested is our choice however , I feel like after a point we cross a line. Like I said if it comes out that he just left, we the public aren't owed his explanatio, only his family is. If it turns out there was a crime and. There's an arrest we will all know If he wanted to leave the marriage, it's their business, I think

Also Tom, what about the bike? Do you think the bike had anything to do with the disappearance or just a wild goose chase?

Tats yes you would think he would contact his kids, but people do lots of weird things that we wouldn't do like the dad/husband who goes out for the proverbial pack of cigarettes and never goes back

I agree with you , but let's not forget her pleas... The way it unfolded was a perfectly happy man with a perfect life all of the sudden vanishes. This hit close to home for a lot of people....
I know people in same town, take that train, etc... She insisted " somebody knew something" , blamed arrow ( a local business), claimed he had no problems with anyone ... People got emotionally involved, physically involved ....
Then fast forward a few month and every single thing she said is a lie and exact opposite is said ( involved drugs/mob, problems w coworkers ....)
Now people are curious and want answers like they are watching a crime show and they want the best outcome for Robert and his family , but also want answers from her !
And of course her minions don't help the situation any by there actions!

I can't figure out if I think that you, a stranger, challenging this mans OWN family about knowledge of the events leading up to his disappearance or "waiting" for their FB page is funny or sad! Really? You know better than them? You have some warped sense of self importance, don't ya think?

You're right, if thats the case, then the public is not owed an explanation. But, it doesn't stop people from wanting to know.
