Hey alanon10 step 1:read post by"I told you so " posted on Feb 4th.
step 2: read my reply to "I told you so" posted on Feb. 19th where I asked "how?" to his statement accusing the school board and I quote..." $600,000 was stolen as reported in Newsday. The buck is being passed and damage control and CYA efforts have begun. "
step 3:read your reply to me on March 5th ,ranting about cutting and pasting and an audit that I never referred to. Go back on the wagon.

How can we vote them out? They are running on Rep. Dem. Ind tickets. We are screwed.

If you want to improve your property they harass you so you have to get variances & Permits for everything you do & they all have fees attatched to them. The roads are in such disrepair it is disgraceful. In the recent newsletter they brag about all the improvements they have made. Where???. So many businesses are moving out that it will soonbe a ghost town.I have lived here for 46 years & never has this town been so run down.

Questio--What do they do with our tax money?

I've been asking for an itemized bill for years! They will never give you one. I would love to see where my money is going. Most of the admins make NOTHING! Except for the goofey thing Shawn and his sidekick Doug! I say Abolish and give to Babylon!

So true brother what a depressing hell hole Swindlehurst is. All other tons on Li have improved except Mastic & Shirley. Unpaved roads in Lindenhurst. Pot holes all over. Garbage cans in the street 3 days after pick up. Oil streets in the street from back yard mechanics all over Loserhurst. You got the ticket!

1-Is it true that donations to the Lindenhurst volunteer Fire Dept. are shared with the salaried Sanitation Dept. But they don't tell you that?
2- I heard that there are empty stores in the Village of Lindenhurst because they issue so many summonses for riduculous codes that mom and pop owners can't survive.I also wondered when we moved here why the Friendly's restaurant was closed. We eat in Babylon Village.
3-Has anyone recieved a flyer in your mailbox threatening summonses if you don't make sure your landscaper is licensed and if you put the grass refuse out before 7 pm. Those bags are too heavy for senior citizens to be lifting and my landscaper works days as all do. And in the sensitive climate of of illegal immigrants should you be threatening that your citizens make sure their landscapers are licensed? That is beyond my comfort zone!

Dear Elected Lindenhurst Officials,

I was outraged to find your recent notice from our Public Works Department concerning landscapers in my mailbox. Whoever wrote this notice went underscoring-crazy and should be disciplined. This notice is out of touch with reality, insensitive and mean-spirited. And the timing is despicable. How dare you threaten homeowners with summonses for lawn services or anything else when so many of us are struggling to hold on to our homes. Unemployment is over 9%. Foreclosures are at an all time high. It isnít business as usual. Wake up and smell the roses! Youíre lucky we are able to maintain our property at all! And speaking of maintaining things, you did a very poor job of salting our local streets during the recent snowstorms. Many streets were treacherous for days. And now our streets are a pothole obstacle- course and you are not fixing them fast enough. Where is our tax money going? On Magic Marker supplies? Or perhaps brainstorming sessions! Hopefully not on raises!

Let me remind you that there are many senior- citizen homeowners in our village. My husband and I among them. A few years ago, my neighbor across the street died of a heart attack mowing his lawn. He was in his 60ís. I would hate to see another neighbor injured or worse because your letter intimidated someone to the point he or she concludes itís easier to mow the lawn and lift heavy trash bags themselves rather then deal with the hassle.

These are tough economic times. I expect my Elected Officials to use common sense, compassion and restraint! Treat every day like itís Election Time.

It's Swindlehurst at its best...taking adavantage of the community because they think that most are uneducated. There is a silent undercurrent of frustration that will emerge in the next elections. School board memebers have contempt for too many of the residents they serve. Running unapposed will only make things worse. They laugh at you when you speak up. Move out of Lindenhurst before it is too late! I have been hearing how our elected officials will make Lindenhurst better for years -- only to learn that things are getting worse by the month....

Oh you must be kidding! Do you have anything better to do with your time?? You are looser! I have a ton a friends in this town they are police officers, nurses, teachers, accountants ect. I don't know of anyone who lets their kids run around in diapers, clean or dirty. My both kids scored perfect 4's on all the state tests. One is now studying chemical engineering the other a lawyer. Just wondering were your kids placed on their exams? Must be pretty low with you as a parent. I Love the comment, duh swindlehurst, wow ignorant! So were do you live....must be the holy grail..

We should do more to help these seniors!!! There is enough children in that highschool that would sign up for a club to help seniors of Lindy.. It's disgusting that they get no support. Most of these seniors live on their ss checks, thats it! It would be a win win for the town and the students. They would get volunteer for college and seniors some much needed yard work. My mother who now suffers from cancer. I go to her home do all the shopping, cleaning, medications, laundry and work a full time job. I also have my own to do with a family. It would be of great help to at least not worry about a lawn. Which I also do! Her tiny paycheck needs to cover her food, 1/2 taxes, lighting, heat well I think you get the idea! So if anyone from a church group or high school it would be great to start a club!!!

Yes I agree and the biggest ones are Doug and Shawn which they aren't appointed and we just need them the hell out! So disrespectful are they to the people they serve. To think Doug is a minister he should be ashamed of himself he is disgusting!! when I retire I will run, just to fire them both are they will need to really start treating the people they serve with respect!

I don't agree with much but illegals landscapers koodos to the village..I am not sensitive to illegals at all! As I'm not sensitive to rapist, child molesters or any other criminal! Im tired of free for me and no you pay for me!!! Enough! If someone wants to give away free anything give to the seniors who already worked their whole lives to only live hand to mouth now!

I have lived in Lindenhurst since 1963. I purchased a home there and put my life and soul into it to make it a showplace and comfortable place to live. Now I have to leave due to the taxes being raised. Mine ? A 1500 + dollar increase. Thats right! In a economy where everyones home is dropping in value, and especially now-I get that kind of increase. Its time for me to leave and go somewhere-where that kind of tax money gives me a better place to live. I am a senior citizen and a disabled vet and I can't afford to live there anymore. How can I compete with teachers that make well over 100,000+. I just can't afford that kind of tax.

At least you all had your streets repaved. We were told it isn't in the budget. We are a block with just 8 houses. The only reason Knoll was done is because there is an official from the Lindy Fire Dept. living there. Plain street doesn't matter to these idiots because like I said we only have 8 houses. We arent big enough to fuck up an election.
