Ha-ha! Bagatelle Road was once a pristine tree-lined roadway before the rich came and tore them down to build their million dollar homes. Get use to it like the rest of us had to when we didn't want things in our own backyards
but no one listened to us.

Another not in my back yard thing. The only problem is its already there. These are the same people that complain that the cost of electricity is too high. Also the same ones that call every 5 minutes when there is an outage. They want every convenience but do not want what is needed to get it.

Exactly. Dix Hills wants everything, but from everyone else. Hell, they don't even allow store there. They always go south to Deer Park & No. Babylon. Screw em

"In January the Town of Huntington zoning board granted variances on the property to re-establish the utility facility, said Fran Evans, Town of Huntington spokeswoman.

Evans said LIPA has conditional approval to work on the site, but town officials are still checking to see if the state-run agency needs a town building permit to work on the project, something it does not possess."

They granted the variances and don't know if they need a building permit?

It is about time DICKS HILLS began taking on its share of public facilities.

It is time to put large tracts of gated affordable housing in DICKS HILLS. Less affluent people need decent schools also.

DICKS HILLS also need a homeless shelter and a home for battered women. Perhaps even a public health clinic to service the needs of the less fortunate in the township.

Time to bulldoze the entire town and put up something useful in its place!

Shut down the power to Dix Hills and we'll see how fast those scums start agitating for more power stations all of the sudden.

No power plant in Dix Hills, no natural gas storage in the sound, where does everybody think the energy is going to come from?

This whole NIMBY thing gets worse by the day - to top it off it gets compunded with NIMTO (Not In My Term Of Office). Sorry folks the plant gets reopened! Now if we could just get Shoreham online!!!

You want the McMansions you better be willing to host the power stations needed to support them. Sounds like NIMBY hipocrites to me.

Wind power was proposed and the wind mills to be placed in the Atlantic Ocean far from where people live. But the NIMBYs also rule the Atlantic Ocean too!

I am now trying to understand why someone who I know is using electric tonight, does not want the infrastructure necessary to continue to provide it. Would these people rather live in the dark? sweat in the summer? not have refrigerated food? not have their microwave? I just simply cannot begin to understand why someone would be opposed to all of these nice things.
