This is very nice, and I find it heartening that a company is investing in its employees once again.

Will this continue through the next economic downturn? Only time will tell.

how about taking care of some of the already "long time" employees, instead of investing in "new employees". new employees are getting better benefits and pay than employees who have work at a company for twenty+ years. there is no loyalty anymore.

Arrow Electronics is the worst company to work for. I should know I worked for them several years ago and quit. They have layoff and downsizing every year. The employee turn over is unbelievable. They are a bunch of stupid people who got in the company early enough and made their money. they are not bright at all.

This is one of the most boring places to work. So glad I left; I have never thought about suggesting Arrow as a company to consider working at. Wish I had those years back.

Corporate America is Corporate America. Most of them are driven by the Stock Price and financial results only. You do sound just tad bitter...but it is what it is. Some companies churn and burn employees and some don't do it as much as others but ALL companies are strictly driven by the Bottom Line and decisions are made by the few who have been able to get themselves embedded in a protected brotherhood, this won't change anytime soon.

25 years ago I too worked for them. I feel the company was run in a very "stupid" way also. I guess nothing changes. People were more concerned about image than making good decisions. Now that I am middle aged, it is truly sad that some people in their 20s and mid 30s affected me so badly at the time. The scars will never leave. It truly was a sophomoric environment.
