Oyster Bay sanitation workers need to take lessons from the guys at District 5. District 5 starts at 6:30 am and finishes work for the day by 10:30 am (for a full 8 hours pay, of course).

What a crybaby. Would an 11 o'clock pick-up be better so that garbage pails can clutter the street all day long and then she can complain about that?
Jennifer, most people are awake and have their day going already by 6:30AM instead of sleeping late. Most children are up at that time watching cartoons and having breakfast. With my windows open I can just about hear the truck coming down the block.
Perhaps you can move to a rural area where they don't have a sanitation department and you have to take the trash to the dump yourself.

If it bothers you so much why don't you get your fat a-s-s out of bed and take your own garbage down to the the dump.

Yes, I have been awakened at the crack of dawn with loud and annoying garbage and SORT trucks. I have walked the dog amid disgusting 'garbage juice' that leaked from the truck, and have had to clean up all the recycled stuff that didn't make it into the truck. My major complaint is that I pay a very high rate of taxes on a tiny corner property and I think that for my money, and yours, that a little consideration from the sanitation department is in order. Thats all, no big deal.

Hey Jack, it’s not that bad. The trucks come and go in less than a minute never to be heard from again until the next pick-up day. If you walk the dog on the sidewalk as you’re supposed to (don‘t want to get hit by cars), there’s no need to walk in the wet funky stuff in the road. We all pay higher than normal taxes and the tiny corner property was your choice.
I think they do a pretty good job. They’re reliable, early and fast. With the exception of some of their snow removal skills, they do a damn good job.

Not everyone wakes up at 5 or 6am like you and your family. You're probably the same annoying neighbor that's in bed by 9 and call the cops to complain about late night noise or people trying to enjoy themselves with late night parties. Many of us get our day started later, but are up well after you are. Stop acting like the world should cater to you. Typical self entitled Long Island schmuck.

This one should have been in the comic section. I was laughing for a good 15 minutes after I read this one.
Close the windows and turn on a fan already.

what's the big deal????? there is no school, they can go back to sleep. I think the pick up of refuge is more important than small children loosing an hour or two of sleep. perhaps Mom doesn't want to get up that early to attend to the children

Perfect example of a self centered, the world should revolve around me attitude. Hey lady, I'm sure if you run out there in your nightie and offer those guys a sample of your wares, I'm sure they could do something for you so your little monsters can sleep longer.

If it comes down to picking sides, I am going to side with the woman! They only smell foul a few days a month! whereas garbagemen smell foul everyday!

As an aside to Death Race...I wouldn't want other people to walk their dogs and let them crap in my grass or on my sidewalk. That's why I walk mine in the street and clean up after him. I guess I put us both in danger, but it's better than to have my neighbors' children play where a dog left contaminants. I do like my tiny corner house, just don't appreciate the taxing schedule of going by the front, not the whole property. I didn't know that's how they did it 25 years ago when I bought the house. But, hey, that's just me.

Hey fucktard, I'm not the one pissing & moaning here about the noise. Go bury your head. You must be one of my neighbors that eats little boys.
