What are these districts waiting for? Does someone have to die before they close these schools? Keeping them open to reap tax dollars for attendence is morally wrong. The health of the children and staff should be paramount NOT the almighty dollar!

"Washing schools “is done for looks,” said Michael Olesen, a Minnesota infection control specialist.“It’s not a rational approach.”

Half Hollow 8% absence rate must be district wide. Local outbreaks are in only a few of the 11 buildings in district. At the 2 middle schools the absence rate MUST be more than 8%. WHATS THE REAL NUMBER? from the affected buildings?

They aren't closing down the schools because the teachers would have to make up the lost days of teaching...State Law requires that schools operate 180 days a year. Imagine the uproar of the teachers union if they had to loose some of their summer vacation.

Misinformation and unchecked facts generated by the 24-hour news machine results in this mass hysteria.
Take precautions, but please people use some common sense.
These parents should teach their children basisc personal hygeine in social settings -- wash your hands often, cover your mouth when you cough, have a handkechief or tissue handy for sneezing, etc.
Queens is out of bounds I guess -- no one go to a Mets game, it's near Corona -- the epicenter.
