Why is it that phasing out the IB program was to save the district \$95,000 per year. Then in a matter of weeks, that amount suddenly decreased to \$65,000 per year. Now only two weeks later the district is reporting that phasing out IB will only save the district \$35,000?
Can someone explain the \$60,000 discrepancy in a matter of a few short weeks? Talk about a self-serving spin machine at work. How do all of you sleep at night?

They are using the Go Math methods.
IB is quite costly and when all is said and done it has been estimated to cost around 200,000.00 a year to maintain.
They just lie. They want people to think that it's such a small amount of money that there is no reason to cut it.
Do you know that they count seats and not heads? Yup, that's right. To justify the program remaining they use fuzzy Go Math methods. If young Katie is taking 5 IB courses, she is counted five times. If Katie has a friend named Sam and he takes 3 courses, he is counted three times. So now there are eight people taking IB.
If you keep doing that with about 20 kids each taking 3 or more courses, the number of students according to the district Math whiz increases. It could look as though 100 students were taking IB courses, but in reality it's the seats they count for the small few who are forced by their uninformed parents to take this ever so flaunted IB programme. It's all a joke.
Which by the way, anyone who tells the truth is marginalized, attacked, and then swiftly booted off the patch.

I can't believe the Patch didn't delete a post that just called La Rossa shady for putting her preschool into the shuttered westbrook.
