Immigrant group protests outside Saviano's office

Eighteen people held a rally in front of the office of state Rep. Angelo "Skip" Saviano, R-77th, in Elmwood Park the morning of June 22 to encourage Saviano to protect state programs that assist low-income immigrants.

funny you should mention cell phone. Last week I was behind a mexican mother toting 3 kids. She had a cart full of baby food jars & cans of formula. All of this was FREE & paid for with vouchers. While the items were bing rung up she was talking (in spanish of course) on her cell phone. It got me wondering - here I am a tax paying American citizen, We work to pay for our food & would never ask for a handout. My tax dollars are paying for her kids food. These immigrants come to America & quickly learn the system. If they dared to protest in their own country they would be arrested. I agree, if you don't like the way this country is run - GO BACK HOME. We certainly don't need any more freeloaders.

No other nationality? Sooooooooo African Americans do not get any financial help? They don't make a line about 500 people long on Lake St and 26th? Right Mexicans are the problem, I mean they work minimum wage jobs, which take out all the taxes that they take from mine and probably your check as well. So they do have a right to aid. Perhaps whats more appalling is seeing Tyrone rolling into pick up some food stamps sitting on 24 inch rims and a iced out necklace. I wonder what he does for a living?

Actually the government now gives anyone that is on aid or has a link card a free cell phone and free minutes. How sweet is that?
