It's a miracle he wasn't killed. Best wishes for a full recovery.

The resiliancy of the Minnesota farmer is legendary. I recall the case of the farmer out working alone in his field when he got his arm caught in a threshing machine. Even though his arm was torn from his body he was able to walk back to his truck and drive himself to the hospital. What's more amazing is that on the way he was able to get his shopping done, pick up his son from day care, make a deposit at the bank and change a flat tire on the way. I salute the rugged individualism of these men who know how to get the job done in spite of their seemingly insurmountable obstacles.

You forgot to mention he stopped to build a house, and ran for office and won, and entered into the one arm olympics as a pole vaulter and won.

It might be streching things a bit but it exemplifies what these people will go through, my dad had a finger crushed in a hay baler and continuned working the rest of the day with a glove on to control the bleeding, that evening he went to the hospital and they amputated his finger, that is the grit of these people.

You can bet neighbors have that center bearing replaced. Its harvest time and it is on from around 10 in the morning to well in to the next day around 4 A.M. I was amazed he wasn't killed. My prayers and best wishes to this guy and his family.
