Lyn,
There are kids that stay with their grandparents during the summer, which is great, but the resident is always supposed to accompany them when they are at the pool, or using any of the other amenities. As I said before, this management does not enforce any of the rules relating to who lives there, or visits.

Thats a bunch of Crap!
I Love living here, the staff is awesome, and the grounds kept up very well. So, the lot rent may be high, but you only get what you pay for!

Hello,

If you are 55 and older, I highly recommend Tropical Haven Mobile Home Park. The Airport owns it and it is an awesome place.

I,ve lived in lamplighter village for almost six years and other than the yearly changes in managers its a nice place. all the residents are friendly and its hard to walk around the street for exercise with out stopping to gab. there are more amenities and activities than other parks in the area and the lot rents are comparable with similar parks. yes the lot rent is higher than parks that have nothing but a swimming pool but here there is so much more plus every month there are loads of dinners, dances and ice cream social and such as well as arts and craft nights. yes there is some selective enforcement of some of the rules but there are no children living here but in the summer kids do come to visit their grandparents and are allowed to stay a certain number of nights. there was a home suspected of drug activity but the park took steps to evict them and tore down the house as it was in disrepair. I lived in condos before moving here and some of the maintenance fees were the same amount along with assessments when extra work was needed but assessments don't occur here. all in all not bad place to live and homes are not expensive to purchase.

Ron,
My house does not "look like poop"! As a matter of fact, it is one of the nicest homes in Lamplighter. We keep our bushes and flowers trimmed and weeded. We wash the outside of our home and pressure wash the carport and driveway as needed. But if you bother to stick your head out of your house, you will find many dissatisfied residents. This can be proven by the number of "For Sale by Owner" signs you see. I personally know of 2 addresses where the residents are unauthorized, underaged and RENTING the homes. Management knows of this but won't do anything because they are collecting the lot rent.

Sharon:

Can you give house #'s for these residents are renters? I would be glad to go to the management and make formal complaints if there are renters here. With rent negotiations starting soon, that would be a very good point of contention for the current residents. Without the house #'s there really is nothing any of us can do about it. Without valid proof of the renters, the management will do nothing.

I m very concerned about this type of behavior with the management, and even though I am a newer resident (within the last year), I bought here for the 55 and older crowd.
There are many homes for sale they are up for the rent increases at least in my neck of the woods.

I would appreciate your assistance in helping get these renters out and the people who are suppose to live here 55 and older-live here.

You people must be fools airing your dirty laundry in this public forum tied to local Melbourne news. Get your arses to a community meeting and do something about your issues if you truly have any and quit embarrasing yourselves, your community and entire town with nit picking queefs about your neigborhood. Lamplighter is a respectable over 55 community that is far nicer than A LOT of trailer trash parks that cost more in Florida, and Melbourne is a wonderful place to live and enjoy retirement. Wouldn't know it by the idiot posts in here by some... wake up people - really!

There is a meeting on 7/9/14 in "C" building to hear what is happening with the rent negotiations and to squash the rumors that have been circulating.

If Sue and Sharon are available this would be the perfect time for the information to be passed on about the renters that Sharon has been speaking of. Its hard to believe that if Sharon has this kind of information it would not be shared with the President's of LV Village so they can take action.

Our community is a wonderful place to live, and no I am not on any committee nor do I plan on being on one. I love this place and want it to continue to be the best 55 and older place to live.

So stop on by the meeting and hear from the President's what is happening and what they have gotten done with the rent negotiations so far.

See you there

It takes a village to raise a child.

It takes a Lamplighter Village to watch that child pee in the pool.

In response to Ann:
I've lived in the park for yrs It is a clean, safe and fun place to live. There are grand kids who come to visit and use the pool or miniature golf. They are allowed to stay over night with their grand parents or over 55 relative. There are not a bunch of kids running around or is there drug addicts everyone has to go through a back round check. I don't know what park your thinking of Ann. But it is not Lamplighter Village. Get a life Ann
THIS PLACE IS A NIGHTMARE! Office staff gets fired every year, and the grounds are not kept up. You do have kids living here all year, and NO SECURITY and NOT GATED!
Buy a real house instead

We have lived in this community for over 5 years and yes there are management changes.

I have not see the part in disrepair that the above posted mentioned. They have a yard maintenance that cuts the grass. They have been putting in brand new manufactured homes that are beautiful. They just put in over 100 palm trees.

The activités are awesome and the people in this community are very caring.

The only issue that I see are the kids. We go to the pool and they are always there. The rules are the kids or guests must be with the owners at all times, this is one rule that this management allows. The manager told us that we just need to call them and they will make sure the ones that aren't with the owners are told to leave, I haven't seen that happen yet.

We would be very interested in learning which homes have the renters. We were told that everyone must own their home here and the community is 40 and older, not younger,. So if this is what is happening during our rent negotiations which is coming up, this point will be brought up and we will make sure it is addressed.

If you know of the homes, please advise your homeowners association presidents LV1 of LV2 so they can take it to the management, and to CalAm for the negotiations. Our rent is increasing and if that is happening we need to be able to point out what they (cal Am) is not doing so that we have"ammo" during the negotiations.,

We am finding it hard to believe that someone who knows of a home that is renting and not the required age, they would not have taken it to the homeowners association and the other homeowners of the community so that is stopped. Why put this information out there if you aren't willing to "back it up with valid details".

Help us keep Lamplighter a wonderful place to live.

It is my understanding that the YOUNG man at 120 Lamplighter (a black and white mobile home) is the second renter that the owner has put in there. Both under the radar of management who refuse to take action.
I noticed that several homes have put up for sale signs just within the last 3 weeks. This would be a wonderful place to live if the rent didn't increase so much and if we got a manager who actually managed!
