All the worker do at Miller's is smoke pot. The store is a wreck and will probably go out of business within the next 3 years. The carts are dirty as crap. It looks like they push there products to the BACK of the shelves. A lot of stuff is outdated. James Miller owns Miller's and Hometown and Hometown is a much cleaner, better, non pot smoking store.

"The only one that smokes weed there is the so called manager." Actually, that's very wrong. He may smoke weed, I don't know. But he sure as Hell isn't the only one who works at Miller's that smokes it. I can say that every single guy that works there, maybe excluding one or two, smokes weed on a regular basis. Go to Hometown, it's a much nicer store anyways. Miller's needs to stop hiring people just because they know their family. It's ruining them.

If Millers drug tested several would be out of a job :P I would laugh so hard if they decided to drug test... I'm sure a bunch of people would be quitting or getting fired...

lol.

almost every business in melbourne employs pot smoking teenage kids. they're kids in a small town/theres not much else to do. Its been like that for ages and its not going to affect any business that much...especially Miller's Grocery.
whats up

Hometowns managers seems more with it to me, how you can own two stores and one be a mess and the other so clean is beyond me. that being said Millers needs to close both and build one big nice modern grocery before some chain like Harps comes to town and kicks their butt. they are resting on their laurels. they better remodel befreo its too late if you ask me.

I like the Millers hardware store though, have bought lots of stuff there cheaper then the big stores.

and people wonder why they keep voting out a walmart cause everyone knows Millers and homtown would die out. would that really be so bad. personaly i would love to stop giving all my money to the millers and coopers of this town and watching them get richer and richer while we keep getting poorer and poorer

Walmart would bring even more skanky people into Melbourne. You might as well put in Liquor Stores too if you build a Walmart.

As far as the drugs go, I know that people do it all over town and especially on the back dock at hometown or did the last time there, as well as everywhere else. Millers is a good store, and it's not just miller's with a problem, it's the people that make up the town not caring about what their children do. If they did, half the businesses around town would all be sufficiently ran. At hometown, I do not feel welcome there the high school cashiers are rude and do not greet you with a smile. Everyone in that store seems to hate their jobs. I would rather be in millers where the employees take time to care about their customers and have a bit of small talk..

Don't know what we're talking about? Really? Because I think if you have ever been into Miller's you know that the place is a wreck. And since everybody knows everybody else in Melbourne, then yes. Everybody knows that pretty much everybody in Miller's is a pot head. And Hometown is much cleaner, and you can clearly see that when you walk into the store.

And what would be wrong with Walmart and Liquor Stores? If we had more reason for folks to stay in Izard County to do their shopping wouldn't that create more jobs and improve the local economy? Or am I just crazy? I don't understand why this county is still a dry county, the solution is quite simple, if you don't like what a particular business is selling, then don't do business there. Too easy!
