We spent this summer on the Western Frontiers base camp 4 miles west of Meeteetse, on rt. 290. One night in late August we took a drive west to the Pitchfork ranch. Just as we drove over the cattle guard going west ( right by the big rock) we saw a fettet like animal run across the road form the river to a large rock next to the south side of the road. We think we saw it one other time too. It went so fast we could not tell for sure what it was. We do not know if it was a black footed ferret or not.
