the band at SGC is fast growing and has a great band director and assistant director. Quick learning students and a great environment. I know for the 4 years I did band and still am I wouldn't trade it for the world.

The band looked good on the field last night until they attempted some difficult marching formations! Need a lot more practice to be able to compete. Could be due to size. Way too many band members out of line and step. Music was not impressive at all.As I said looked good...but sound and marching needs much!

Even good kids with a good director need a lot of practice to execute well on the field...I was just making an observation.Much ...much...much practice!

What does Milan's band have to do with the topic here? It is a shame Medina can not set their own standards and not feel they must measure up to Milan in every aspect of their lives!

Milan's band performed Friday night? They've always been really good except Gibson county just tops them all but what I'm saying is both bands need practice.

Sounded good?? Maybe if you could actually hear them! For a band of that size, I would have thought one would at least be able to hear them!

I sat on the Milan side, and they face the Milan side while playing so I heard them just fine....and they sounded good!

Well, duh, all bands face the home side! It was a home game at Milan! I am quite sure I have seen more bands perform than you will ever see. If you know nothing about judging a band's performance, maybe you should just not comment anymore.

You seem to comment a lot. You don't know the band you don't know that instructor and you don't know the kids. At most competitions and games its favoritism. We don't need people who won't even tell their true identity to comment. I posted this to ask experienced adults. Not for people to argue.

And I understand that and that is why I posted but there is no need to put down something you don't know anything about. I can't say anything about any other band purely cause I'm not there with them everytime they practice or perform. People have to understand that band isn't easy and some shows are harder to clean than others. Saying one band needs lots of work when you don't know how hard we've worked is disrespectful to the program. I'm not gonna argue anymore cause I have nothing else to say but all I know is SGC's band and their program is brand new and very good to be brand new. We're not the best no but if we're good enough to win grand champion then I'm pretty sure we work just as hard as GC.

I have seen Medina's band several times this year and think they are awesome. They work hard and it shows. The director and the members put in a lot of hours. Let's support them.

My younger sister is under the direction of Mr. Price at SGC. Having marched at GC and having a sibling at SGC, they're both pretty damn good. You're GOING to see a few weaknesses at SGC BECAUSE THEY'RE NEW. Give them a break. They're learning FAST. I understand that some people have their preferences, but you can't just down one band to make your band look better. That's bad sportsmanship and very immature.

And Goforthegold, as someone as knowledgeable of band as you are, you should be a little more compassionate. Yes, they're new. Yes, they need work. But getting on here and bashing them for they're lack of experience is like kicking an injured person: you're not getting anything but a bad name. Let this band grow and be nurtured under Mr. Price and the assistance he has and become something Medina can be exceptionally proud of. We're already proud NOW.
