The gym is for getting fit, Not a daycare!Get a babysitter or get a treadmill at home. The gym is no place for kids to be running around, playing , or disturbing patrons that are there for a reason.Place is doing well and growing.

I like not being around a bunch of kids when I'm working out (and yes I have two). I consider it time for myself. However, I know for a fact that you don't have to be 14 to enter the building. Don't know what Mom_of_2 is talking about? You do have to be 14 to be a member. I have brought my 10 year old daughter several times with me to wait. They do not offer day care. But, the 24 hour access is awesome. Surely you can find an opportunity to work out. I also know they are offering classes to kids beginning at age 7. I joined in January and it's been great. Let's not be so quick to be negative to new businesses in Medina. I personally can't wait for more businesses to come.

Thank you for your info. I only posted what I was told by one of the owners. I specifically asked when he speaking with him "oh are you saying that under the age of 14 cannot come in the building at all?" He said "yes". Maybe I should call again to get some clarification, esp. since you are saying you bring your child. My kids are ages 7 & 10.
Also, I too would greatly welcome more businesses...I hate going to Milan or Jackson to get groceries or eat out; and there are only so many times you can eat Mexican or Sonic :)

I am not looking to use the place as a daycare, as you suggested in your post. Also, I do understand what it means to not disturb others. If you would have read my post I said my kids would sit and do homework, play their DS or read...not run around. Some of us do have well behaved children and know how to control them if needed. I wish I had the ability to have the "me" time, but I do not. Not to mention, if getting fit only required a treadmill then I guess a fitness center wouldn't be desired...would it. I just recently went through radiation for cancer and need to have a healthier lifestyle, being able to workout in a gym setting and get advice from professionals would have helped me greatly.

Go back and talk to some of the folks there, You may know someone that can help trade out or have someone that can watch your children when you need to work out. Agreed, your children may be well behaved but there are alot that arent and people simply do as they please, Worth checking out again, Look at the Zoomba sign up sheets and see if you know anyone.

Keep in mind the business owner needs to have insurance on his place. While some folks have been bringing kids in that are under age 14, there may be an insurance requirement indicating an age limit. I'm sure the owner's not doing anything like this just to spite those who don't have someone to watch their kids when working out, which is kind of what you implied Mom of 2. That's how I read it.

To me, it's apples and oranges. People with young children go to Gold's or Sports & Fitness. 24 hour facilities are generally very small and usually unstaffed. It's a completely different model and families with children that want childcare will go somewhere else. I believe the best gyms are full-service with childcare, classes, etc. I am a member of Peak because it is convenient.
