Xmas Decorations Stolen

How did AMSA members make it through the locked doors and security measures at the village offices? "Stealing"? Really? Typical, shameful display of incompetence and over-reacting to partial truths. Obviously, there was somebody in particular being targeted here. Maybe AMSA was just trying to make sure that all wreath candle bulbs were lit and of the same color this year

i was wondering why the village and AMSA only decorate the downtown area. why don't they decorate in front of all the business along route 31 where people actually go to shop. i assume that those business pay taxes too. its also great to see such good cooperation between the village and the merchants.

Albion Main Street Alliance doesn't have jurisdiction to extend past where they are now, plus there are power limitations to contend with. The larger business area of the Rt.31 corridor would be a great joint venture between town & village, just as long as there are no repeat hangings of sewer pipes on power poles painted to resemble candy canes.

How the hell could anyone assess the conditions of any decorations on-site in that s*ithole of a basement? Dark, poorly lit, wires hanging all over the place, open electrical panel boxes, dust and filth. Taking them outside is just common sense, and by the way, never were they ever evaluated on-site (in that basement dungeon) in previous years. Sounds politically motivated.

Why did Mr. Rivers redact the bit about "Deputy Mayor" Sheehan storming out shouting, "AMSA can sue the h*** out of me!" and the information about Mr. Sheehan calling the police initially once it was discovered that the decorations were "stolen"?
It appears as though Mr. Rivers is back to his Daily News days where he's subjected to crying fits, tantrums, and bullies who tell him what to write and what not to write. If Mr. Rivers was present for the morning meeting session, which it appears as though he was (with quotes), are we to believe that he imagined "Deputy Mayor" Sheehan's tantrum, created a false story about statements made, and then published it on his website?
I think there are better uses of the Village's time. For example, provide Albion residents with an explanation as to why the advertising banners that accompanied the Christmas decorations in the past have not been hung in the past couple of years. Or, address other "theft" of village property and time that happens right in front of them. The Village DPW puts up the decorations, but clearly does not have the time to check to see if the colored bulbs work, or to check and see if they match. Here, AMSA is trying to do something beneficial, save the DPW some time by cleaning up the decorations and making necessary repairs, and some of the board members have to throw a fit about it.
The question to be answered is, which board member gave AMSA the OK to take the decorations? AND, who let AMSA into the basement, through the keypad entry doors?
