Is it me, or does the county look at Hanna as their big, fat, redheaded ugly step-sister? If these folks in Rawlins are befuddled as how to accommodate 166 people for the wind farm, how are they going to help plan for thousands for the gasification plant? You can bet they will grab all the tax dollars generated by these businesses, but how much of the money will be funneled back into the communities affected by these projects?
Nominated for most ridiculous statement ever-
Weickum acknowledged that “166 people is more manageable" than the large number expected for the coal-to-liquids plant, but "all of them in one room is not going to work." This is after admitting that the area has over 5,000 hotel rooms, and that housing will be provided by the energy company anyway. With the lack of foresight and practical solutions, I think this is going to end up badly. Apparently, problem solving is not our local leaders forte.
